Luis Manzano says he and ex-girlfriend Angel Locsin are talking again

Bago pa man nag-break sina Luis Manzano at Angel Locsin ay nakapagbitaw na ng salita ang aktres na wala siyang binalikan na ex-boyfriend niya. Ayon kay Angel, alam daw kasi niyang ibinigay na niya ang lahat ng maibibigay niya para ma-save ang nasabing relasyon. At pag natapos ito, nangangahulugan lamang na dapat na niyang tanggapin na wala na talaga siyang magagawa para ayusin pa ang isang natuldukan nang relasyon.



Sa kaso nina Luis at Angel, mukhang malabo na talagang magkabalikan ang dalawa, lalo't ganito nga ang pananaw ng aktres pagdating sa pakikipagrelasyon.



Sinang-ayunan naman ito si Luis nang makausap siya ng PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal).



"If you look at her track record, it's true naman na wala talaga siyang binalikan sa mga naging ex niya. But in life, in general, huwag tayong magsasalita ng tapos. Hindi ko siya pinaparinggan or anything, but, di ba, we never know what will happen?



"Basta ngayon, masasabi kong mas nag-mature kami, mas nag-mature kami on how we are as individuals. Let's say, hypothetically, nagkabalikan kami, we'd be totally different individuals in a good way," saad niya.



Ano naman ang reaksiyon niya sa sinabi noon ni Angel na nami-miss niya ang pinagsamahan nila, pero hindi si Luis mismo?



"Siguro nung nasabi niya yun, that was before yung mga naging usapan namin, when we decided to clarify kung anuman ang mga nangyari. Kahit ako, nami-miss ko kung ano kami dati at nami-miss ko siya at alam niya yun. Yun siguro what's behind her statement."



Pero inamin ni Luis sa PEP na bukas na uli ang komunikasyon nila ni Angel, at nakausap na rin niya ang ama ng aktres na si Mr. Angel Colmenares.



"We talked. Siguro we made the first step para maayos na namin kung anuman ang mayroon kami dati. Kung anuman ang mga naging isyu sa amin, medyo nabaon na namin. Siguro yun ang pinakaimportante dahil ang tagal naming hindi nakapag-usap, ang tagal naming hindi nagkita. Siguro ngayon, we have a steady phase na maayos kung nasaan kami ngayon. We're very, very happy.



"Nakapag-usap na rin kami ni Tito [Mr. Colmenares]. Nope, walang sumbatang nangyari, hindi ganun si Tito at hindi ko rin magagawa yun sa kanya. Tito is a very, very decent man. Nakapag-usap na kami and okey naman. Napakataas ng respeto ko kay Tito at sa buong pamilya ni Angel, at ganun din ang ipinakita sa akin ni Tito when we had a talk," lahad ni Luis.



NO THIRD PARTY. Tikom pa rin ang bibig nina Luis at Angel sa tunay na rason ng kanilang breakup. Pero lumabas ang mga pangalan nina Maricar Reyes at Anne Curtis, na nahuli raw ni Angel na ka-text ni Luis, na mukhang may ibang nangyayari. Naparatangan tuloy na babaero ang TV host-actor.



"Unang-una, kami ni Angel, never naming hinawakan ang phone ng isa't isa. Hindi kami ganung couple," paglilinaw ni Luis. "Si Maricar, first time na nakita ko siya at nakausap nang harap-harapan was the camera test ng Flash Bomba almost a year ago. Kasi siya dapat ang love team ko sa Flash Bomba.



"Next time ko na siyang nakausap was Star Magic Ball na itong huli [last August]. Would you imagine yung pagitan nun? You see kung gaano kalayo ang Flash Bomba sa Star Magic Ball? Kaya hindi ko alam kung saan nanggaling yung issue na 'yan. I won't deny that Maricar is a friend, yes, I got to talk her but nothing weird or special.



"Si Anne naman," patuloy ni Luis, "aminin man natin o hindi, matagal ko nang kilala si Anne kesa kay Angel. Marami na rin kaming pinagdaanan. 'Saka Anne, of all people, hindi na kinu-question kung gaano ko ka-best friend yung tao at nadamay pa sila sa issue namin ni Angel.



"Regarding that babaero issue, ang tagal ko nang naririnig 'yan. Sanay na ako. Dati pa namang issue sa akin 'yan, pero ang ayoko lang pag may nadadamay pang ibang tao na walang kinalaman. Diyan medyo napipikon ako kasi nanahimik yung mga tao na walang kaalam-alam."



ANGEL-JOHN LLOYD TEAMUP. Kumpirmado na ang pagtatambal nina Angel at John Lloyd Cruz sa isang teleserye ng ABS-CBN next year. Tinanong namin si Luis kung masasaktan ba siya kung sakaling malaman niya na sa pagsasama ng dalawa ay magkahulugan ng loob ang mga ito?



"I know they are both good people," sabi ni Luis. "Napakabait ni Angel. Hindi puwedeng kuwestyunin yun, alam ng buong bayan yun. At napakabait din ni Lloydie. If things are meant to happen, things are meant to happen. If not, hindi siya mangyayari.



"More of mawi-weirduhan siguro ako. Kasi, kumbaga, yung ex-girlfriend ko, tapos bigla na lang yung 'ex-love team' ko na si Lloydie na Kanto Boys. It's gonna be weird. Pero siguro kahit papaano, hindi mo matatanggal na ma-hurt ako pag nangyari yun. But of course, you have to understand things happen for a reason, the same way things don't happen for a reason."



"Ex-love team" ang turing ni Luis kay John Lloyd dahil sa pelikulang In My Life, kung saan gumanap sila bilang gay lovers.



FAMILY OF STARS AND POLITICIANS. Kumpirmado na ang pagtakbo ng ama ni Luis na si Edu Manzano bilang vice president sa 2010 elections. Si Edu ang ka-tandem ni Secretary Gilbert "Gibo" Teodoro, na tatakbo namang presidente, sa ilalim ng Lakas-Kampi-CMD party.



"Nagulat ako nung malaman ko na tatakbo siya," sabi ni Luis. "When everything happened, I was in Las Vegas. Hanggang sa umabot nga sa akin yung balita na tumakbo siya. Nung una, hindi pa ako naniwala. But I know what he is capable of doing. I know yung pagkatao niya, his integrity as a person, and his capability of helping other people if he's given a position in the government. I have faith in my dad whether for vice president, for senator, or kung ano pa man," pahayag ni Luis.



Ilang araw pagkatapos ianunsiyo ni Edu ang kanyang pagtakbo bilang vice president ay inamin nito ang breakup nila ng news broadcaster na si Pinky Webb. Ayaw namang magbigay ng komento tungkol dito si Luis, pero nandun ang hiling niya na maayos sana ng dalawa kung anuman ang gulo nila. (CLICK HERE to read related story.)



"Matagal-tagal na sila," sabi ni Luis. "Kung anuman ang naging problema, sana maayos nila 'cause I guess as a couple, they've been through a lot talaga. Hindi ko alam kung totoo na kaya sila nag-break is because of that, not until I heard from them. I don't want to speculate kasi medyo it's a personal matter. Until I heard talaga from daddy or kay Pinky, di muna ako magko-comment."



Bukod kay Edu, tatakbo rin sa 2010 elections ang ina at stepfather ni Luis na sina Batangas governor Vilma Santos at former Senator Ralph Recto. Parehong for re-election ang tatakbuhin ng mag-asawang Recto.



Maging si Luis ay nababalita ring tatakbo. Ano ang masasabi niya rito?



"Sabi ko nga, tatakbo ako sa barangay tanod!" biro niya. "But kidding aside, not yet. Maybe next election, but definitely not now kasi marami pa akong dapat gawin sa industriya. Let's see, I'll just cross the bridge when I get there. Kumbaga, hindi ko isinasara ang pinto ko sa pulitika."

Angel Locsin says breakup with Luis Manzano will not affect her bond with Vilma Santos

Iniiwasan ni Angel Locsin ang kung anu-anong puwede niyang sabihin na malalagyan ng ibang kulay tungkol sa breakup nila ni Luis Manzano.



"Hindi maiiwasan yung may samaan ng loob right after the split-up," sabi ni Angel sa PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal). "Normal yun. Pero, siyempre, you give the benefit of the doubt na baka maayos pa, makapag-usap. Yun naman ang importante doon dahil mahalaga pa rin sa akin ang pinagsamahan namin ni Luis.



"Mahirap yung mapasukan yun ng grabe pang mga intriga. Kaya naghintay ako ng pagkakataong makapag-usap. Nang magkita kami ni Luis sa ASAP, that was the only time na nagkaroon kami ng chance para makapag-usap. Ang tagal naming hindi nakapag-usap. Alam mo yun, may mga bagay ka na gusto mong kalimutan, pero hindi agad maalis sa utak mo. Parang ganoon, e.



"Espesyal si Luis sa akin. May pinagsamahan kami. Hindi ganoon kadali. But, I'm okay. Never naming sinagot yung mga tanong sa tunay na dahilan ng split-up. Hindi na importante 'yan, lalo na ngayong nakapag-usap na kami. Maski sa mga dati kong nakarelasyon, kung nagtatapos yun, hanggang doon na lang. Hindi ko ugaling magsalita," tuluy-tuloy na pahayag ng aktres.



ANGEL MISSES ATE VI. Kung mayroon mang laging gustong alalahanin ni Angel sa naging relasyon nila ni Luis, ito ay ang napakagandang trato sa kanya ng Batangas Governor at Star For All Seasons na si Vilma Santos.



"Tita Vi is really like a mom to me, too," banggit ni Angel. "She's really nice. Yung times na nagkakilala kami, naging malapit agad ang loob ko sa kanya. Whatever happened, I don't think maaapektuhan yung naging bonding namin ni Tita Vi. And I am assuring her, kung kailangan niya ng support ko, hindi siya magdadalawang-salita.



"In that aspect, mami-miss ko siya. In special gatherings kasi, may time na nakapag-usap kami. At ngayong wala na kaming relasyon, it won't be easy for us to meet na ganoon lang. Pareho naman kaming busy. Pero if time allows, I will always have that time for her. Gagawa at gagawa ako ng paraan."



Ang feeling nga raw ni Ate Vi, phase lang ito sa personal life nina Angel at Luis. Magkakabalikan din daw ang dalawa. Ano ang masasabi rito ni Angel?



"Talaga?" tila hindi makapaniwalang tanong ni Angel. "Ang bait talaga ni Tita Vi. Alam mo yun, tiyak na may mga naikukuwento si Luis tungkol sa aming dalawa."



Dagdag niya, "Hindi ko naman maisasara ang pinto nang ganoon lang, at magsasalita ako nang patapos. Sa ngayon kasi, to be honest about it, I want to focus on other things. Nakapag-move on naman ako kaya tingnan na lang muna natin yung mangyayari na may kanya-kanya kaming buhay muna ni Luis."



MARICAR REYES. Nakaladkad pa ang pangalan ng baguhang aktres na si Maricar Reyes sa isyu ng hiwalayan kina Luis at Angel. Ano ang reaksiyon dito ni Angel?



"Hindi ko alam kung paano sasagutin 'yan, kasi ang focus ko lang, yung sa aming dalawa ni Luis," sabi niya. "Huwag na tayong mandamay pa ng ibang tao. Hindi ako dapat magsalita. At kung may nadamay pang ibang tao, sorry talaga. May pinagsamahan kami ni Luis. Ayoko yung dahil wala na kami, doon ako magsasalita ng kung anu-ano."

‘Angel will always be an angel in my life’ - Luis Manzano

TV host-actor Luis Manzano has not moved on from his breakup with actress Angel Locsin.

“Iba rin ang pinagdaanan namin. We would always have something special. Siguro there’s one percent… ‘yung move on na natanggap [na] namin ang pagkukulang ng isa’t-isa.

“‘Yung 99 percent is Angel will always be an angel in my life,” he told “Entertainment Live.”

The Kanto Boy member also revealed that he has finally spoken with Angel’s father, Angel Colmenares.

“Tito [Angel] and I had a talk na before pa ko umalis [papuntang Las Vegas]. I explained everything. Utang ko ‘yun kay Tito at sa buong pamilya ni Angel dahil wala silang ibang pinakita sakin kundi pagmamahal at respeto,” he said.

Will he and Angel get back together?

“Love may be sweeter the second time around.”

Luis added: “We’re taking things slow. The fact na nakapag-usap na kami ni Tito, that’s a big step sa pinagdaanan namin ni Angel. Where things will lead us, we don’t know. Pero slowly naaayos namin ‘yung lamat.”

ABS-CBN unveils shows at Ad Congress


ABS-CBN has presented their forthcoming shows in 2010 during the 21st Advertising Congress held at the SBMA Industrial Park.

The lineup includes the Kim Chiu, Gerald Anderson and Kris Aquino starrer, “Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo;” Angelica Panganiban’s soap, “Rubi;” powerhouse cast drama series, “Tanging Yaman;” and the long-delayed Judy Ann Santos-Derek Ramsay reunion serye, “Habang May Buhay.”

“Nakaka-proud, nakakatuwang isipin [na maging bahagi ng mga soap operas], pero hindi naman ako nag-iisa, maraming nandiyan na gumagawa [rin] ng teleserye,” said Judy Ann Santos.

Her leading man, Derek, couldn’t be happier over their onscreen reunion.

“Siyempre I’m honored to be working with Juday again. Kung di ko naka-partner si Judy Ann, wala si Derek Ramsay sa showbiz ngayon so I have everything to thank Judy Ann for,” he said.

Is it really over for Angel & Luis?

Is it really over for Angel Locsin and Luis Manzano? The two accidentally bumped into each other during a performance
in A.S.A.P. They both didn’t know that they were included in the opening number. “Dun lang uli kami nagkita. Biglaan. I didn’t know he was included in the opening number. So medyo nakakaloka ang reaction ko,” explained Angel.

“I didn’t notice if we held hands. I am not sure and I cannot remember,” said Luis.

Angel also revealed that they were not talking to each other after the break-up. “It’s kinda weird if we continue to talk to each other. Break na nga di ba,” she reasoned out. “I just want to be true to myself. Weird naman kung chummy chummy kami agad. I was really surprised to see him at the opening number of A.S.A.P. I think he, too, was surprised.”

But do they still love each other? “That is one question I cannot answer right now. I miss the way we were but I don’t miss him.”

Luis said that his mother, Gov. Vi, misses Angel a lot. “My mother loves Angel so much and I can really say and I am very sure that my mom misses Angel.”

Angel said that the governor will always be her idol. “Whatever happens, I am here to support her.”

Asked if she has found a new love, Angel enthused, “Hindi ako nagmamadali. Gabriela ako, at marunong mag-isip.”

The kilig that tickles the fans

I bumped into Sarah Geronimo twice already. First, she was with her whole family having dinner at Serendra. Far from being the Pop Princess that she is, Sarah is very shy in person — almost reticent. She obviously enjoys the company of her family. At the Greenbelt Cinemas, I again bumped into her, this time she was with friends Rachelle Ann Go and Yeng Constantino. Her dad was with them. Soft spoken, quiet and simple, she greets you with the most sincere smile. On stage, Sarah is a different story. When she performs, she morphs into a princess, captivating and enchanting. Last Saturday, Sarah staged Record Breaker, a concert at the Araneta Coliseum.

And Sarah doesn’t just sizzle on stage, she sparkles on screen. Her tandem with John Lloyd Cruz is formidable. Lloydie, told that Sarah may be paired with his buddy Luis Manzano, quipped in jest, “I don’t think it will happen. Parang hindi maganda. You need to be paired with other artists in order to grow. Pero si Sarah di kailangan ng growth. Kumbaga, she has concerts, she has A.S.A.P. Pag pelikula, ako lang wag na si Luis.”

“I don’t know with him. Di ako kinikilig. I am used to his antics. Pa-cute lang yon,” Sarah shot back.

This kind of repartee actually delivers the kilig that tickles the fans — like me.

Third party in Gab-Rachelle break-up

Is there hope for Gab Valenciano and Rachelle Ann Go? Gab says Rachelle still owns his heart 100 percent. “You can’t just say I don’t love a person because Rachelle has been a part of my life. Siguro mas malaki pa siya sa puso ko. I can guarantee you, with me, it’s her 100 percent.”

But Rachelle was mum when asked if there is still a chance that they can be together again. “Ayokong mag-expect or mag-hope. Mangyayari kung mangyayari,” she said.

Monstrously kind-hearted

Chico and Delamar of RX 93.1 program The Morning Rush announced the first-ever Monster Scholars, who will get to enroll in the second semester of 2009 and graduate in March 2010, through the Monster Scholarship Program.

Originally chosen as the first Monster Scholar was Erica Cruz, Electronics Engineering major at the Technological University of The Philippines, but the station decided to choose one more scholar: Ada Marie Bayani, Nursing major at the Centro Escolar University. Ada was nominated by her sister Cheryll.

Two more scholars were selected, their grants made possible by kind donations from a member of the Jaycees and members of San Beda High School Class of 1979. They are, Karchelle Francisco, Journalism major at the University of Santo Tomas, and Greg Ely Flores, Nursing major at Our Lady of Fatima University-Lagro, respectively. The donors have chosen to remain anonymous. All the four Monster Scholars are graduating students who received school
supplies and clothing allowances. Grand prize winner Erica Cruz will also receive an additional cash allowance.

Monster Radio RX 93.1 will pay the tuition and other fees of the chosen scholars for the second semester of school year 2009-2010. The Monster Scholar will also become part of the Monster Family, joining its events and activities for the rest of the school year.

No bad blood between Luis Manzano, Angel Locsin

TV host-actor Luis Manzano denied that his relationship with ex-girlfriend Angel Locsin has soured, describing it instead as “better than before.”

"She's busy with her Shop and Share (online charity drive). Ako naman, kababalik ko lang din (from the US). We're better (now) than kung ano kami before," Luis said on “Showbiz News Ngayon” recently.

The actor added that she still holds a special place in his heart because “iba talaga ang napagsamahan namin ni Angel.”

He recounted that Angel even asked him to participate in her Shop and Share campaign in which celebrities are asked to donate items that are then auctioned with the proceeds going to victims of typhoon ‘Ondoy.’

Some of the celebrities who have already done so are Kris Aquino, Shaina Magdayao, and Kim Chiu. Luis said he will donate his timepieces.

The actor’s next project following the success of his film “In My Life,” is a movie with Pop Star Sarah Geronimo.

This early, however, some people have already started comparing Luis to John Lloyd Cruz who was Sarah’s leading man in two previous box-office movies. Some say that Luis can’t duplicate John Lloyd’s feat, not even match his acting prowess.

Still, Luis graciously parried the intrigues.

“Fan ako ng love team nila (Sarah and John Lloyd) kaya sana, kahit kaunti lang ay umabot kami.

“Siyempre, ang lakas ng pinagsamahan (nilang movie). Hopefully ay (maging) iba rin 'yung kulitan naming dalawa (ni Sarah.)"

Luis Manzano keeps a lid on rumored split with Angel Locsin

Talks are ripe that Luis Manzano and girlfriend Angel Locsin have called it quits after they were seen snubbing each other in an “ASAP” segment.

Luis Manzano was quick to admit that they are going through “something,” but he refused to divulge details.

"Whatever our reasons or disagreements…it’s between us. No there’s no third party involved,” said he.

Prodded further, Vilma Santos’ son said the issue was not because of scheduling. "It's not also [because we lack] time. We don’t bother with that because we respect each other’s schedules. We will never fight just because of something so petty [as time].”

Manzano is hopeful that they’ll both be able to settle the matter soon.

"Right now, we're trying to work things out. Hopefully, we will be able to fix this."

It should be remembered that the couple almost broke up early this year with Locsin even changing her Facebook status to "not in a relationship."

Locsin is now in South Korea filming a TV commercial. Her manager, Becky Aguila, said she’s clueless about the break-up issue and all she knows is that Angel and Luis had a misunderstanding.

Aguila also said that she and Angel are extending their stay in South Korea for a “vacation.”

Angel misses Luis

PNS – Angel Locsin (left with Luis Manzano) didn’t know she loves to cook until she played the role of Jillian, a chef, in “Only You.”

“It’s so enjoyable pala and I realize I could make a career out of cooking,” she says. “Gusto ko ngang seryosong mag-aral nito kasi when you have your own family, I think hindi ka mapapahiya sa husband and kids mo kung magaling kang magluto. As of now, meron na ring ilang dishes na alam kong lutuin, like talangkanin, combined talangka and kanin. I learned them while we’re taping ‘Only You’ in a culinary school in Korea.”

Has she made her BF Luis Manzano taste her cooking?

“Hindi pa. Ayoko muna kasi baka kapag natikman na niya, lalo siyang ma-in love sa’kin at mag-propose na,” she laughs. “So huwag na lang.”

She misses Luis very much as he’s now in New York shooting the movie “In My Life” with his mom, Gov. Vilma Santos. “Ang tagal naming hindi nagkasama kasi before he left, ako naman ang nasa Korea with Sam Milby and Diether Ocampo taping ‘Only You’ on location for three weeks din. Pagdating ko rito, sandali lang kami nagkasama at siya naman ang umalis. Pero okay lang, talagang we’re both more focused on our work.”
