Angel Locsin: Still queen of primetime TV

When everyone thought Angel Locsin would eventually be a fallen angel, especially after the not-so-hot Lobo, and the equally tepid reception to the movie Love Me Again, she rises again, like the mythological Phoenix and be the queen of primetime television in Only You.

One of the dazzling stars to shine to dominate the celestial heavens of show business, Angel remains a name to reckon with in the industry.

This year is Angel’s banner year. Not only she has a hit series Only You with Sam Milby and Diether Ocampo, but she also racked up loads of endorsement deals from shampoo to sanitary napkins, making her one of the most visible faces on television.

Only You, a remake of an original Korean drama, has fascinated a lot of people, including this writer, who make sure they see every episode shown from Monday to Friday on the Kapuso network.

Locsin seems to have re-invented herself on screen. She is no longer the dour-faced superhero we saw earlier in Mulawin, Darna, and Majika, and the she-wolf in Lobo.

In Only You, she doesn’t have to pretend she has supernatural powers to cope with life. But she has the heart to make people root for her character Jillian and her son Joshua. Audiences are torn between Jonathan (Diether Ocampo) and TJ (Sam Milby) in giving approval for Jillian’s affection that we know will certainly end up with TJ.

The positive reaction to Angel’s portrayal of a woman torn between friendship and love, coping with the little her family has in comparison to the other characters in the series, confirms Angel’s true dramatic flair, that she can also play real human characters. In fact, critics have noticed her exceptional acting performance in the series.

Just recently, Angel Locsin’s first appearance in a drama series on ABS-CBN, Lobo, was given recognition at the 30th Banff World Television Awards (an international award-giving body). It was hailed as a category winner for drama series.

Angel’s evolution from a teen star to an actress has been confirmed with best actress nominations by different award- giving bodies. At the 22nd Star Awards for TV, she won Best Single Performance by an Actress for her role in an episode in Maalaala Mo Kaya titled, Pilat.

Next in the full schedule of the actress is a movie that will pair her with perennial heartthrob, every girl’s dreamboat, Aga Muhlach.

Only You has indeed captured the hearts of people not only in the Philippines but everywhere where The Filipino Channel (TFC) is available.

No Mano Po for Angel

We received Malou N. Santos’ statement on the issue about Angel not being able to accommodate Regal Films’ offer to do Mano Po 6 with Sharon Cuneta. We are reprinting it in toto: “I personally spoke with Mother Lily of Regal Films to explain why Angel Locsin cannot do ‘Mano Po 6.’ Angel would love to do a movie with Megastar Sharon Cuneta, but unfortunately, she could not accept the project because of her prior commitments and busy schedules. After doing the TV series ‘Only You,’ Angel will start shooting two movies—one with Aga Muhlach under the direction of Cathy Garcia- Molina and another with Director Chito Roño. Afterwhich, she will start taping for a new teleserye. I hope this will put the issue to rest. Thank you for your understanding and continued support to Angel Locsin.” Malou Santos is the managing director of Star Cinema to which Locsin has an existing exclusive contract.

Sam Milby elated with Only You

Who would have thought Sam Milby could make it through the world of show business? Dubbed as the Rockoustic Heartthrob, Sam Milby has indeed made a sparkling career after his Pinoy Big Brother days and now, he continuously proves himself as a versatile actor by giving life to the character of TJ in Only You!

After his stint in the first season of Pinoy Big Brother in 2005, countless opportunities came knocking on Sam’s door. By far, he has already recorded three studio albums, Sam Milby, A Little Too Perfect, and Love Duets. He has already flexed his box-office muscle with films with Star Cinema including Close To You (with John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo), You Are The One, You Got Me (with Toni Gonzaga), and My Big Love (with Toni and Kristine Hermosa). The series he starred in had become favorites of many, like Maging Sino Ka Man, Ang Pagbabalik, and Dyosa.

A mainstay of ASAP ’09, Sam soars to greater heights with more projects that challenge his talent. His portrayal in the well-loved series, Only You, brings out another side of him, and that is despite the fact that his Tagalog isn’t even perfect. His shortcoming in speech is more than compensated by his sensitive portrayal of TJ, the son longing for maternal affection. His feelings for Jillian and the discovery that he has sired her a son has all the more given him the motivation to prove that he is worthy of Jillian’s affection.

“Each project is always a learning experience which makes me strive for a better me,” Sam exclaims in an interview.

His good looks is no hindrance for him to be a better actor and to be taken seriously. In fact, if only he can speak Tagalog as fluently as his co-stars in ABS-CBN, hands down, he will be the network’s best actor ever.

In fact he has been awarded by The Dangal ng Bayan Awards 2009 as Best Actor and Male Performing Artist. Watch out for his pairing with Bea Alonzo in Star Cinema’s And I Love You So.

Heart-tearing Cruel Love

I am a certified fan of Cruel Love, a 2008 Korean drama known originally as Bad Love, about a cellist Elaine (Na In Jung in the Korean language version) who is torn between Stephan (Lee Soo Hwan in the original language) and Yuan (Kang Yong Ki), a rebellious pop artist.

I don’t understand why our series must be meandering about a very simple premise, while the Koreans can be so simplistic, nearly minimalist focusing only on the characters involved in the story, and develop their plotline very logically.

GMA-7 has definitely found a perfect late night drama in this one starred by Korea’s most popular stars—the bodilicious Kwon Sang Woo as Yuan, pretty Lee Yo Won as Elaine, and the sexy KimSung Soo as Stephan.

We are now in that part of the series where Elaine is having second thoughts about her relationship with Yuan after learning how Yuan is connected to Stephan. Stephan meets up with Elaine to convince her that their relationship should end.

Yuan and Elaine continue to spend time together despite the predicament she’s into. Elaine all the while thinks that she’s already paid for the consequences of falling in loving with Stephan, but after discovering how the two men are connected, she is torn between her love for Yuan and her past with Stephan.

How can Elaine escape the cruelty of pain brought about by her past affair with Stephan? Will she finally give up her love for Yuan to end Julienne’s constant badgering and revenge?

By the way, if you shuttle between channels, this one appears immediately after Adik Sa Yo, which I manage not to watch as it is ridiculous, vapid, and so unreal.

Helping through music

The first Grand Star Dreamer Yeng Constantino continues to live up to her first hit song in the music scene entitled “Hawak Kamay” as she involves herself in Red Cross.

Yeng, together with Erik Santos and Toni Gonzaga, sung the upbeat theme song of Red Cross, “Bagong Umaga.” “Kahit kakanta lang ako... kami, alam ko na through my music, I can help. Kasi kami ang magsisilbing voice sa message na gustong iparating ng Red Cross sa mga tao,” Yeng expressed.

According to Star Records and Gwendolyn Pang, secretary-general of the Philippine National Red Cross, Yeng was chosen not only because of her talent but also of the fact that she has been a star volunteer of Red Cross since 2006. “’Di lang naman kasi pagdo-donate ng dugo ang paraan ng pagtulong sa Red Cross. May iba silang programs kung saan hindi kailangan magdonate ng blood,” Yeng explained.

Under the recording giant Star Records, the Red Cross theme, “Bagong Umaga,” is included in the album entitled I Move, I Give, I Love meant for the 150th anniversary of Red Cross worldwide. The album is composed of inspirational tunes by different artists. Proceeds of the album will go to the Red Cross, Annabelle Regalado-Borja shared, managing director of Star Records.

All the hard work for the project culminated in the Red Cross big event which happened on June 24 wherein more than a night of music happened. Red Cross aims to set the largest human formation of the Red Cross logo in the Guinness.

Fernando calls for reforms in party politics

Metro Manila Development Authority Chairman Bayani Fernando yesterday vowed to fight tooth and nail to bag the nomination as official standard- bearer of the administration’s Lakas-Kampi-CMD party in the 2010 elections as he pushed for reforms in the way the party conducts politics.

Fernando said it is time that the party raises its standard on moral fitness, competence and public service for those aspiring to be the group’s flag bearers.

Fernando said the party should offer a new way of nomination, not from an insular party perspective but from a national point of view.

He appealed to party leaders and members to seize the moment on nomination day and occupy the moral high ground by demonstrating that the Lakas-Kampi-CMD could be an agent of change and advocate of new politics.

“If we agree to reform the way we conduct party politics, then we can move on to other, more pressing issues of the time, such as a new mode of campaigning and instituting a new moral order in governance,” he added.

Fernando warned against the same archaic and self-defeating system of nominating the party’s standard-bearer based on surveys and popularity ratings, saying that unless we changed the way we choose our country’s leaders, we will be condemned by history for abdicating our mandate of selecting the most qualified and competent leaders as our party’s standard-bearer.

“Let us show the people that we are capable of rising above personal interest and that we deserve their trust,” he said. “We begin by rejecting traditional politics and the evils that characterize its populism, horse trading, subservience to interest groups, parochial interest and gold.”

The Lakas-Kampi-CMD was borne out of the merger of Lakas-CMD and Kampi. President Arroyo is chairman of Lakas-CMD, while Kampi is the President’s own party.

Fernando said that while he supported the Lakas-Kampi merger, it was done with undue haste and without full consultations from the members, particularly at the grassroots level.

He stressed that party leaders should immediately come out with party rules and guidelines on the selection of official candidates that party members should adhere to, warning that failure to do so would doom the Lakas-Kampi in next year’s polls.

Chris and Japoy at Wellness Fair

Local sports icons and popular Milo champs Chris Tiu and Japoy Lizardo recently drew a huge crowd at the Milo booth of The Joy of Wellness Fair organized by Nestlé Philippines. Held at SM Megamall, the fair promoted the condition of good physical and mental health through proper diet and exercise.

The Milo booth featured the theme The Joy of an Active Lifestyle and is one of the many activities aligned with the efforts of Milo to help build champions in sports and in life. “I strongly encourage parents to get their kids into sports because of the many benefits that it brings not just in terms of their health but also for their character,” says Chris.

Guests at the Milo booth had a blast testing their basketball skills against Chris via a free throw shootout while Japoy, on the other hand, showed everyone how to prepare the perfect Milo mix, also known as The Champion Mix. Fans also enjoyed having their photos taken with their sports idols and getting their autographs as well.

These activities were complemented by an exhibition featuring students of the Association for the Advancement of Karatedo, the Milo BEST Center, and a sports talk. Guests to the Milo booth were also treated to an insightful mural about the National Milo Marathon and its progress to become the country’s longest and most prestigious running event; as well as the evolution of Milo as a pioneer in sports. Of course, wellness isn’t just about engaging in enough physical activity; it’s also about eating the right kinds of food, which is why a free nutrition counseling was also offered to guests.

The activity likewise featured the launch of the Milo Champ Camp, a Milo school tour that started this month.

Mother Lily vs. Angel

Utang na loob is something that most young stars today don’t have and, frankly speaking, it’s one trait that, specifically, Angel Locsin should learn from senior stars like Sharon Cuneta who stays long and strong in the showbiz (rat)-race because she knows how to look back and acknowledge the value of gratitude.

That’s Regal Matriarch Mother Lily Monteverde’s simple message to today’s young stars (again, specifically Angel Locsin): Have a sense of gratitude.

“Sharon became a Megastar not only because she is a talented singer-actress, but because she is loyal and knows how to honor a commitment, marunong tumanaw ng utang na loob,” Mother Lily asserts.

Sharon is the prized talent of Viva Films, Regal’s arch rival in the 1980s, but Mother Lily continued to nurture the dream of working with Mega someday. “I had a long-standing offer for her to do a movie with Regal.”

Now, the timing is just right for Mega and Mother Lily to work together in Mano Po 6: My Love, Regal’s entry in this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival. Sharon even agreed to appear as “guest” in another Regal movie, Oh, My Girl! (OMG) which stars Judy Ann Santos and Ogie Alcasid.

Now, who would play Sharon’s daughter in Mano Po? Could it be Angel Locsin or Kim Chiu?

“If you ask me, Sharon can carry a movie on her own,” Mother Lily said, “and she doesn’t need support from today’s crop of stars.”

The truth is that Mother Lily felt slighted when Angel reportedly declined an offer to co-star in Mano Po 6, citing her “exclusive” contract with Star Cinema.

“Angel was one of my babies once,” Mother said. “As her mother, I got hurt because she had a commitment with me to do three more movies. But still I let go of this issue because I want her to grow. I also didn’t want to rock the boat because of my friendship with ABS-CBN bosses Genny and Gabby Lopez, Freddie Garcia, Charo Santos and Cory Vidanes. Malalim ang aming pinagsamahan.”

Mother Lily has a legal right to “force” Angel to fulfill her commitment to Regal but she’s not suing and just waiting for divine justice to be rendered.

No hard feelings towards the ABS-CBN/Star Cinema people either, Mother Lily said.
That’s one thing she has with Sharon: Marunong makisama.

Mother Lily on Angel Locsin: She's like a daughter

MANILA – Regal Films matriarch Lily Monterverde has no personal grudge against Angel Locsin.

In a taped interview aired on “The Buzz” Sunday, Monteverde maintained that her “door is open for her” despite the actress’ statement saying that she could no longer appear in Regal’s next movie with Sharon Cuneta due to her busy schedule.

Monteverde explained that she only aired her sentiment to highlight her point that it should never be about availability but honoring previous commitments.

She, however, clarified that she is not mad, adding that she would always treat Locsin as if she is one of her daughters.

When sought for her reaction, Locsin heaved a sigh of relief.

“Sa kanya ako nagsimula so nakakagaan ng loob, nakakatuwa na maayos [na ang] lahat,” Locsin said.

Before joining ABS-CBN, Locsin starred in "Mano Po 2" (2003), "Mano Po 3" (2004), and "Mano Po 5: Gua Ai Di" (2006). The actress signed a two-year exclusive contract with ABS-CBN on Aug. 11, 2007.

Star Cinema defends Angel Locsin

MANILA – An executive of ABS-CBN's movie outfit, Star Cinema, has spoken with Lily Monteverde to explain why Angel Locsin could not join Megastar Sharon Cuneta in “Mano Po 6: My Mother.”

In an official statement, managing director Malou Santos said that she assured Monteverde, the matriarch of Regal Films, that Locsin wanted to be part of the movie. The actress, however, could not commit due to "prior commitments and busy schedules."

After her television series, “Only You,” Santos disclosed that Locsin is scheduled to make two films – one with Aga Muhlach under the direction of Cathy Garcia-Molina and another with director Chito Roño.

She added that the actress will also start taping for a new teleserye.

"I hope this will put the issue to rest. Thank you for your understanding and continued support to Angel Locsin," Santos said.

The statement was issued after Monteverde reportedly expressed disappointment over Locsin's decision not to do the film with Cuneta.

Monteverde reportedly claimed that Locsin had a commitment to make three more movies under Regal. Despite this, Monteverde said she held no grudge against Locsin and ABS-CBN.

Before joining ABS-CBN, Locsin starred in "Mano Po 2" (2003), "Mano Po 3" (2004), and "Mano Po 5: Gua Ai Di" (2006). The actress signed a two-year exclusive contract with ABS-CBN on Aug. 11, 2007.

Angel shares her blessings

MANILA, Philippines – She was away from showbiz for three days but Angel Locsin neither went abroad nor headed to a white sand beach for a much-needed rest. She and four other companions — her sister, brother-in-law, personal assistant and a friend — packed their bags and flew to Mindanao to visit Muslim and Christian civilians greatly affected by the recent armed conflict that resulted in the burning of several houses in the area.

It was her first time to visit Munay, a place Angel describes as “a far-flung, no signal area one cannot even search on Google (map), puro clouds lang.” Thus, her beau, Luis Manzano was worried and insisted on getting her some escorts a few days before she left. Even her dad was hesitant about allowing her to go on with her plans. But he knows Angel is bent on helping in any way she can.

“We just came back the other day safe and sound,” Angel says at the recent thanksgiving presscon for ABS-CBN’s Only You. “It was a personal trip and nobody asked me to go there. I just want to do my part…to help… ayoko lang na wala akong pakialam.”

Her heart bled, Angel says, when she saw how people — young and old — suffer from sickness inside the evacuation center in Munay. A lot of them try to survive in their everyday struggles but there were some who already gave in to malaria and other health epidemics in the area.

“It was really heart-breaking to see people in that condition. I went there to see for myself what else I can do to help them. I know this is not easy and until now I’m thinking how to send all their needs like medicines,” Angel shares.

What pushed Angel to go there?

“Simpleng usapan tungkol sa pagbabago at kung ano pwede maitulong. I used to do charity (work) but in this case I think what they need is more than charity. Mindanao is a beautiful place and if the war never stops, a lot of things will be wasted. Sayang, mayamang lupa ang Mindanao… lahat ay madaling itanim doon.”

Having been aware of the situation in the neighboring area of the evacuation center, doesn’t she feel nervous when she set foot in the place?

“I felt scared because we need to coordinate with the mayor who is of the same age as me (24 years old) and talk with the human rights lawyer just in case di kami makabalik alam nya hitsura namin. Ganun ang sitwasyon doon,” Angel replies.

Asked if there is truth to the rumor that she has Muslim blood, Angel says, “I can’t answer that now.”

All she knows right now is that good things are happening to her career. Her TV series, Lobo, with Piolo Pascual won at the recent Banff World TV Awards in Canada. Her primetime soap, Only You, with Diether Ocampo and Sam Milby is a consistent top-rater. She, too, is set to do a movie with Aga Muhlach and hopes a teleserye with John Lloyd Cruz will push through.

“Everything is going great. It inspires me to do my best and share my blessings to people,” Angel says.

The 2005 DARNA TV SERIES CONTINUITY STARRING ANGEL LOCSIN

Before the 2009 DARNA TV Series reboot begins starring Marian Rivera, we take one last look at the 2005 DARNA TV Series continuity and the the art of the 3 part English Language Comics mini-series that inspired it.

There once was a faraway planet called “Marte” inhabited by two races with a vast understanding of advanced sciences and magic, The Adranikans were the enlightened people of peace and justice led by Queen Adran and the Anomalkans were the underground dwelling, serpent-like beings ruled by Queen Braguda.

Braguda & Adran were friends when they were young and both were fond of the Planet Earth light years away. Through the combined powers of the Magic White and Black Stones which Braguda possessed , both she and Adran were able to observe it from afar. Adran was fascinated by the Eagles of the Earth and made these noble creatures the symbol of her peoples’ coat of arms. Braguda of the Anomalkans patterened their symbol on the Serpents of the Earth for their grace and cunning.

After Braguda showed the planet to Adran, she vowed to one day possess it. Adran tried to convince Braguda that everything they need was on the Planet Marte and there was no reason to conquer other Planets. But Braguda was defiant so Adran used her powers and telekinetically stole the white stone from Braguda. This is what began the war between the Adranikans and the Anomalkans.

Queen Adran knew that the magic white and black stones would be needed by Braguda for this endeavor. So she took away the magic white stone and kept it away from Braguda who wanted it.

Years pass and Braguda’s insatiable hunger for interstellar domination makes her desparate and much more dangerous. A prophecy comes to the people of the Planet Marte that states that Braguda’s reign of power would end when she meets her death at the hands of a fellow Anomalkan.

Since no one from the Planet Marte can survive for long in Earth’s environment, the Anomalkan refugee only had a short time to live. The Alien comes across an Earth woman named Prospera who was pregnant at the time. Noticing this, the Anomalkan transfers the seed it is carrying onto the already pregnant womb of Prospera making it a parasitic twin. Eventually Prospera gives birth to both. One human, the other-a Monster.

Horrified at her half- alien offspring, Prospera takes the hideous child back to the spacecraft in the hopes of killing it there. But before she could, the monstrous child morphs into a normal human baby girl. This causes her to abandon her plan and take the child home. As she arrives, she discovers that her normal, human daughter has disappeared (who unknown to her was taken by her half brother- Mulong to replace his own daughter who had been born dead.) Because of this, she decides to name her half-Anomalkan baby “VALENTINA” which was originally meant for her missing human offspring- The baby daughter she had with Rafael.

Unlike full blooded Anomalkans, VALENTINA was a hybrid. This mutation in her genes, the melding of Anomalkan and human DNA makes her more resilient to Earth’s environment since she is also part human. Both the Adranikans and the Anomalkans of the Planet Marte cannot long survive in Earth’s atmosphere for long since their life energies get depleted causing them to age prematurely and perish.

Meanwhile, back on the Planet Marte, Braguda is convinced that she has escaped the prophecy by destroying all the unborn Anomalkan infants. She then embarks on her war against the Adranikans.

The day finally came when Planet Marte’s core could no longer withstand the stress brought upon by the war. The Planetary core becomes unstable. Queen Adran then instructed her faithful ally- AIO to carry the magic white stone and take it far away from Marte and out of Braguda’s hands. AIO reluctantly agrees to leave with the stone. But not before she is spotted by Braguda who chases AIO’s starcraft away from the doomed planet. Just as Aio & Braguda escape the gravitational pull of their home planet, it explodes leaving them among the few survivors.

AIO flies through a “wormhole” in space which sends her to the Earth’s solar system with Braguda in pursuit. As AIO’s ship is disabled by Braguda, AIO sends her own ship on a collision course towards Braguda’s.

The 2 of them manage to survive the crash while the white stone of power is flung free and streaks toward the Earth to the Philippine province of Laguna where it is discovered by a young 10 year old girl named Narda. Narda is the daughter of Prospera’s half brother- Mulong, making her Valentina’s cousin. Narda meets AIO disguised as an Earth woman who explains to her that the stone is part of a greater destiny. A destiny that would be revealed in time.

8 years pass and Narda is a young woman of 18. On a high rise rooftop in the city of Manila one day, a telepathic voice is heard by Narda emanating from the white stone that explains to her that it was time and she must now unlock the stone’s power by swallowing it and then speaking the name inscribed on it. Narda reads the word, swallows the glowing amulet and utters…
”D A R N A !!!”

A burst of brilliant star light is unleashed and a thunderclap is heard and Narda is transformed into an otherworldly being- A metahuman warrior of the Planet Marte- “DARNA.” The Adranikan sage- AIO explains what it means to be DARNA and what she was created for. Her mission is to halt the impending assimilation of the Earth by the Galactic Tyrant- BRAGUDA of the Anomalkans.

Braguda creates Neo-Anomalkans through the power of the black stone so that these new minions can be used to search the Earth for the white stone and to destroy the Adranikan champion- Darna. The black stone is what helps sustain Braguda and her Anomalkans while in earth’s environment. Without the black stone, they themselves cannot survive on Earth. The Neo-Anomalkans are Earthlings who are transformed by sorcery into evil beings of tremendous power.
VALENTINA, the Snake Woman, NOSFERAMUS-the Shadow of Death, MAMBABARANG-the Warlock King of Insects, SULFURA-The Acid Woman, MOLECULA the metamorph. DIVINA DEMONICA the succubus, MANANANGGAL, BABAING TUOD and BABAING IMPAKTA.

These are the menaces that would challenge Darna time and time again. But not all of these threats that besieged the Earth were of Anomalkan origin. Other menaces included the demented Dr. Ted or DR. ZOMBIE and his legion of ghouls, a mystical imp called The TOYMASTER, and Darna’s own dark side made flesh- THE BLACK DARNA !!

Origin of the Magic Stones & the Adranika vs. Anomalka War.

Centuries ago, there were 2 Planets beyond our star system that contained 2 of the most powerful forces in creation. The opposing forces drew the 2 planets together and destroyed both. In its wake, 2 very powerful stones of energy were formed. On the Planet Marte, the first Queen of the Anomalkan race discovered the 2 stones of power floating in space and retrieved them to be passed on from one generation to another. When the stone was finally passed on to the current Anomalkan Queen- BRAGUDA, Planet Marte’s destiny changed forever. Unlike the former rulers of the Anomalkan race, Braguda longed for conquest of other planets beginning with the Planet Earth.

During this period, there was peace and harmony between the Anomalkans and its surface dwelling counterparts- the race called “Adranika”. Braguda was still good friends with Queen Adran of the Adranikans. One day, Braguda called Queen Adran to show her a beautiful blue planet she had discovered. She took out the magic Black Stone and Magic White stone and combined their powers to show Adran the planet Earth. Adran was impressed and admired this discovery for its beauty and exotic wildlife. Adran saw the Eagle and used the image of this noble creature to be the symbol of the Adranikans while Braguda saw s Serpent and used this to be the symbol of the Anomalkans.

When Braguda vowed to one day use the power of the 2 stones to seize the Earth, Adran tried to convince her that everything they needed was already on the Planet Marte and that there was no need to invade other worlds. Braguda was insistent on her dreams of conquest so Adran used her telekinetic abilities to yank the white stone out of Braguda’s hand and ran off with it. She knew that with only one of the stones, Braguda’s power would be insufficient.

Beccause of this, war broke out between the 2 races which lasted a long time leading to the eventual destruction of the Planet Marte. But Queen Adran who kept the white stone all this time hoped to find a champion who could one day harness the power of the stone for good and be the Earth’s protector and prevent Braguda’s evil from taking root. She asked her trusted aide- AIO to journey away from Marte and onto the Earth to get the stone as far away from Braguda as possible and prevent her from acquiring it.

But Braguda, in her starcraft, was able to follow Aio all the way to where the Earth was. The 2 ships collided and the magic white stone was thrown free and fell towards the Earth like a falling star. As if in answer to Queen Adran’s last wish, the white stone landed in close proximity to a girl who was out in the woods one evening. A young girl who was pure of heart named…NARDA. She would one day unlock the power of the stone as the champion she was destined to be …DARNA !!
