CEBU, Philippines - In Yahoo’s celebrity search rankings for 2009, acting newbie Maricar Reyes emerged as the most searched Filipino celebrity, besting such showbiz personalities as Kris Aquino, Angel Locsin and Marian Rivera who have had more established careers. Reyes' claim to fame this year was unfortunately through the series of sex videos between her and celebrity doctor Hayden Kho which were leaked onto the Internet.

The top celebrity searches in the Philippines are:

1. Maricar Reyes: The doctor-model turned actress was identified as controversial (ex) doctor Hayden Kho's partner in several sex videos that leaked to the internet (it was reported that she was his girlfriend then at the time the video was shot, when they were still both studying to become doctors). The sweet-faced Reyes' deafening silence and videos certainly stoked the interest of web-savvy Filipinos. Ironically, Katrina Halili, the other high-profile personality who also starred in the sex videos and who publicly condemned and charged Kho in court, didn't make it to the most searched list.

2. Angel Locsin: Her high-profile romance with showbiz heir Luis Manzano, and their eventual breakup, plus her series of TV projects, one of which landed her a Best Actress nomination at last month's International Emmys held in New York, have kept the actress on the internet radar this year.

3. Sandara Park: After getting a break through an ABS-CBN reality show, Sandara left the Philippines a couple of years ago with a heavy heart, saying that she is no longer loved by Filipino audiences. This year, however, she regained Filipino interest after reclaiming fame anew, this time in her home country in Korea as member of the pop group 2NE1.

4. Pamela Bianca Manalo: Because we are a pageant-crazy nation, it was inevitable that this year's lovely and statuesque Philippine bet to this year's Miss Universe would highly generate web attention.

5. Kris Aquino: Unlike in previous years when Kris Aquino made news for some scandalous reasons, the multi-media star had quite a share of the internet limelight with the death of her well-loved mother, who was also her no. 1 fan, the former president Cory Aquino. Other reasons that most likely had people searching about Kris were her active participation in the typhoon Ondoy relief drive for her mother network, and in the presidential plans of her brother, Sen. Noynoy Aquino.

6. Marian Rivera: 2009 has been a less controversial year for Marian, who had "run-ins" with the movie press the previous year, which was the height of reports that she caused the breakup of longtime sweethearts Dingdong Dantes, her perennial TV partner, and singer Karylle. Marian may not be as most searched as in 2008, but she remains in the Top 10 through her top-rating teleseryes on the Kapuso network, and also because of speculations on the real score between her and Dingdong. The two have been playing coy in interviews, even as their actions are saying otherwise.

7. Michael Jackson: The death of the King of Pop this year hogged the headlines all over the world. And it was obviously no different in the internet.

8. Coco Martin: The "indie prince" has made news this year for making it to mainstream TV and doing good at it. His kontrabida role in the top-rating Tayong Dalawa has been praised by fans and critics alike.

9. Anne Curtis: Her on-off relationship with one of showbiz's favorite heartthrobs Sam Milby, her continuous TV projects, and other real-life events such as the road accident mid of this year, wherein she hit her Porsche Cayenne into a van, and sustained minor injuries.

10.Judy Ann Santos: Her very private wedding with TV host-actor Ryan Agoncillo had the media and the internet community buzzing. It was so private that they shunned media coverage, kept the date and location under wraps, limited the guests, and chose largely un-showbiz people as godparents.

A woman of substance, Angel Locsin is a television and film actress, commercial model, film producer and fashion designer in the Philippines. Angel reluctant to star in new 'fantaserye?'

MANILA - Fresh from her experience at the 37th international Emmy Awards in New York, Angel Locsin attended the story conference for her upcoming teleserye “Kokey @ Ako” at the ABS-CBN compound last Monday.

A lot of people were actually surprised that she accepted the “fantaserye” right after her International Emmy nomination. Some said she should do another drama series that might give her another international recognition.

Locsin explained that joining “Kokey @ Ako” is her way of trying new roles and getting out of her comfort zone. This way, she added, she will be able to improve her craft.

“Ayoko din naman na pare-pareho ‘yong ginagawa ko para naman mahasa din ako. Kasi siyempre ang acting, learning experience din. Ayaw mo naman ma-stuck sa isang aspeto lang,” said the actress, who’s been in the industry for almost 8 years.

She added that “Kokey’s” storyline is “very interesting.”

“Tapos in-explain nila sa akin na hindi lang ito basta fantasy show….Madami kayong matututunang aral dito. Lalo na sa nangyaring Bagyong Ondoy at Pepeng. Kailangan natin turuan ang bata, maski tayong matatanda, kung papano alagaan ang environment,” she said.

Locsin will be playing the role of Jackie, a news reporter who will be involved in Kokey’s search for his missing baby sister as well his mission to save earthlings from a new set of evil aliens.

“Masaya ako dahil medyo matagal na akong hindi nakakalabas sa TV. And excited din ako kasi karamihan ng shows na nagagawa ko noon ay pambata. Tapos balik pambata ulit ako,” she said.

It will also give her a chance to work with directors Lauren Dyogi and Wenn Deramas and actor-comedian Vhong Navarro, she said. The actress said she is excited to work with Navarro, her new leading man.

During the story conference, Navarro kept telling Locsin that he’s “lucky” to have her as his leading lady, but the latter merely laughed at his funny antics.

When asked if she feels awkward with such references to her former boyfriend Luis “Lucky” Manzano, Locsin was quick to say that she’s already used to Navarro’s sense of humor.

Both Locsin and Navarro had done fantasy series in the past. Locsin was the lead star of "Lobo," while Navarro's last fantasy show was "Lastikman.”

The actor-comedian, who started as a member of dance group "Street Boys," said he will play the character of Bruce, a cameraman who will eventually fall in love with Jackie (Locsin).

The taping for “Kokey @ Ako” will start on December 15. It will premiere on ABS-CBN in January 2010, taking over the timeslot of hit teleserye “May Bukas Pa.”

Angel, Anne thrilled over Dolphy's biopic

MANILA - Actresses Anne Curtis and Angel Locsin shared their excitement after learning they may be included an upcoming biopic of the country's King of Comedy Dolphy.

In an interview, Locsin and Curtis said they would be honored to be part of the project.

"Wow, totoo? Well of course, it's such an honor and I'd love to be part of someone's biopic, especially because I've been able to work with him (Tito Dolphy). It's an honor," Curtis said.

"Wow, ngayon ko lang narinig ito. Sana matuloy kasi unang una, Tito Dolphy 'yan at si Direk Erick Quizon. Ilang taon kong naka-trabho 'yon. Yong thought na magampanan ko 'yong pinili niyang role sa akin (eh iba na). Sana matuloy, sana. Exciting," Locsin added.

According to director Eric Quizon, son of Dolphy, the biopic is part of the celebration for his father's 60th year in showbiz.

"There are plans na gumawa ng masasabi nating biopic, but that's all in the planning stage," Eric said.

The women in Dolphy's life

If the project pushes through, the most interesting aspect of Dolphy's life is said to be his colorful love life.

When asked about actresses who can play the women in Dolphy's life, Eric replied: "Si Bea [Alonzo], nakikita ko, saka si Tita Grace [Engracia Domniguez], first wife ng daddy ko. Sa papel ni Tita Gloria [Gloria Smith], pwedeng si Angel [Locsin]. Sa papel ng mommy ko, pwedeng si Anne Curtis, Kristine Hermosa or Heart Evangelista. Sa part ni Lotis Key, pwede din si Anne Curtis. Part ni Tita Alma Moreno, pwedeng Angel Locsin."

Eric said he is confident he will be able to find the right people for these roles since the industry has a lot of good actresses.

"Masasabi natin marami tayong magagaling na young stars na maaring gumanap noon sa papel ng the women in Dolphy's life," Eric ended.

Dolphy's 65th year in showbiz

On November 27, Dolphy celebrated his 65th year in showbiz through a golf tournament organized by his children.

Dolphy's friends from in and out of showbiz participated in the "1st Pidol Cup" held at Eastridge Golf Club in Rizal.

Proceeds of the golf tournament will be go to the victims of recent typhoons.

The "Pidol Cup" will support the Habitat for Humanity through their on-going project called "Repair and Rebuild."

"The first annual Pidol Cup is the kick-off event because it's not going to be a one-day celebration. It's a whole year celebration. It starts up with this, and then the next event that we'll be having is, my dad has a movie called 'Nobody, Nobody But Juan.' Pagkatapos nun, marami pang iba," Eric said.

Those who were seen during the golf event were action star Monsour del Rosario, singer-composer Lito Camo, and actress Glydel Mercado.

Nobody, nobody but Juan

Dolphy's upcoming film, "Nobody Nobody But Juan," will be shown next month as an official entry to this year's Metro Manila Film Festival.

Eric, the film director, said his father will play Filipino-American elderly Juan dela Cruz. He also said that “Wowowee” main host Willie Revillame will play a vital role in the movie.

Dolphy explained the original plan was to have Revillame play a big role in the film, but due to the host’s hectic schedule, he could only commit to a cameo appearance.

Angel Locsin returns to TV with a fantasy series for kids

Wala raw binabalikang relasyon si Angel Locsin, kaya nang magkasira sila ni Luis Manzano, sa tingin ng marami ay malabo nang madugtungan pa ang relasyon nila.



Pero nang makapanayam si Angel ng PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) sa nakaraang story conference at pictorial para sa Kokey, tila di na ganoon katigas ang posisyon ng aktres.



"Yes, di ako naniniwala sa reconciliation, pero baka kainin ko ang mga salita ko," pag-amin ni Angel.



"Di ko naman maalis agad kung ano ang nararamdaman ko, kung ano ang mga pinagsamahan namin. Pero sa ngayon, mas okey pag friends muna kami," sabi ng aktres na nitong Nobyembre lang uling nakipag-usap kay Luis, apat na buwan matapos ang kanilang breakup.



PROUD OF LUIS. Si Anne Curtis ang ka-date ni Luis sa nakaraang 23rd Star Awards for TV kung saan nanalo siya as Best Male TV Host, samantalang Female Star of the Night naman si Anne.



Ayon kay Angel ay niyaya siya ni Luis na samahan ito pero hindi siya puwede noon.



"Nagtanong siya, pero di naman ako makakapag-provide ng gown nang ganun kabilis. Ayoko rin naman kasi may commitment din naman ako kinabukasan."



Pero nagpahayag ang aktres ng kagalakan nang matamo ni Luis ang karangalan.



"Sinabihan ako agad ni Luis nung manalo siya, same thing with Anne. Dapat lalabas kami ni Anne kasi nanalo siya as Star of the Night, pero antok na antok na ako kasi mayroon akong fun run kinabukasan ng 5:30 a.m. for McDonald's. Baka mahimatay ako sa fun run, di maganda, kasi tinatawag akong Darna tapos ganun ang mangyayari, di ba?



"Very proud ako kay Luis kasi alam ko kung paano niya seryosohin ang trabaho niya. Alam ko kung paano siya magtrabaho. I think deserve naman niya yun."



NO DATE FOR THE EMMYS. Di man pinalad si Angel na manalo sa 37th International Emmy Awards, kung saan nominated siya for Best Actress para sa teleserye na Lobo, masasabing nagbukas ito ng pinto para mapansin internationally ang mga shows na gawa dito.



Inimbitahan ni Angel si Piolo Pascual na maging kapareha niya sa awards night sa New York noong November 23, pero hindi ito puwede. Naging honest rin si Angel na inaya niya si Luis pero hindi rin siya nito napagbigyan.



"Tinext ko si PJ [Piolo] kung gusto niyang sumama sa Emmys. Sabi niya gusto naman daw niya. Nagpaalam naman siya, kaya lang di siya pinayagan kasi naghahabol sila ng taping for Lovers [in Paris]. Siyempre, siya ang in-invite ko dahil siya ang kasama ko din, ka-partner ko sa Lobo. Gusto kong ma-experience din niya.



"Oo, in-invite ko rin si Luis pero nanood siya ng Pacquiao... Medyo nagtampo lang ako sa kanya. Ang tagal naming di nag-usap tapos heto nga, parang naging okey na although friendship muna, tapos din dun siya kay Pacquiao. Ako, ang suporta ko sa Team Pacquiao, nandun siya kay Pacquiao-wan. 'Ok, dun ka muna.'"



WORKING WITH JOHN LLOYD. Magiging kapareha niya si John Lloyd sa sisimulang teleserye ng ABS-CBN at tiyak na mahahaluan ng love angle ang samahan nila. Sa isang panayam ay inamin daw ni Luis na masasaktan siya kung saka-sakaling mahulog ang loob nina John Lloyd at Angel sa isa't isa.



"Huwag muna siyang magselos kay John Lloyd," ang sagot naman ni Angel dito. "I don't think about those things kasi ang focus ko ay sa magiging trabaho namin ni Lloydie... Wala naman sigurong dapat ika-hurt o ano pa man kasi wala namang issue.



"Basta ako pag nag-start na kami ng show, magwo-workshop talaga ako, ayokong mapahiya kay Lloydie. Napakahusay niyang aktor, iba yung atake ni John Lloyd. Kaya niyang magpatawa, kaya niyang magpaiyak, ang galing! Sobrang intense actor talaga."



Sabi ni John Lloyd sa ibang interviews na medyo nailang daw siya nung ginagawa nila ang station ID ng ABS-CBN dahil kailangan niyang akbayan si Angel.



"Hindi, no, nang-aasar lang 'yun, baka raw may magalit. Nagbibiro lang si Lloydie," paliwanag ni Angel.



SERIES FOR KIDS. Habang di pa sinisimulan ang teleserye nila ni John Lloyd, isa munang fantaserye ang gagawin ni Angel. Ito ay ang Kokey, kung saan makakapareha niya si Vhong Navarro.



"Happy and excited ako. Ang tagal na rin akong di nakikita sa TV at ngayon babalik ako sa isang show na pambata. Excited ako kasi first time kong makakatrabaho si Vhong. Pangalawa, unit ito ni Direk Loren Dyogi, ibang atmosphere naman. Pangatlo, si Direk Wenn, first time ko siyang makakatrabaho din."



Masaya ring nagkuwento si Angel na habang tumatagal ay lalong dumarami daw ang sumusuporta sa kanila ni Anne sa proyekto nilang Shop and Share na almost half a million ang nalikom at naibigay na sa Philippine National Red Cross.



"Nag-donate si apl.de.ap ng Black Eyed Peas, na-touched talaga ako, sobrang nice-nice. Kasama niya ang family niya, pinuntahan ko siya sa hotel, nandun ang buong family niya kasi birthday niya. Nag-donate siya ng jacket, shirt, 'saka shoes.



"Si Efren Peñaflorida [CNN Hero of the Year in 2009] naman, nag-donate din. Facebook friends kami tapos nakakatuwa nga kasi nag-meet kami sa airport. Nag-good luck kami sa isa't isa. Siya mismo ang nag-offer sa suot niyang dog tag. Susuotin daw niya yun sa CNN, tapos pag siya ang nanalo, ipapa-auction niya. Na-touched ako kasi naalala pa niya yung promise niya. Ang sweet din niya kasi binigyan niya ako ng sarili kong trophy, 'Hollywood Best Hero.'"

Luis Manzano says he and ex-girlfriend Angel Locsin are talking again

Bago pa man nag-break sina Luis Manzano at Angel Locsin ay nakapagbitaw na ng salita ang aktres na wala siyang binalikan na ex-boyfriend niya. Ayon kay Angel, alam daw kasi niyang ibinigay na niya ang lahat ng maibibigay niya para ma-save ang nasabing relasyon. At pag natapos ito, nangangahulugan lamang na dapat na niyang tanggapin na wala na talaga siyang magagawa para ayusin pa ang isang natuldukan nang relasyon.



Sa kaso nina Luis at Angel, mukhang malabo na talagang magkabalikan ang dalawa, lalo't ganito nga ang pananaw ng aktres pagdating sa pakikipagrelasyon.



Sinang-ayunan naman ito si Luis nang makausap siya ng PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal).



"If you look at her track record, it's true naman na wala talaga siyang binalikan sa mga naging ex niya. But in life, in general, huwag tayong magsasalita ng tapos. Hindi ko siya pinaparinggan or anything, but, di ba, we never know what will happen?



"Basta ngayon, masasabi kong mas nag-mature kami, mas nag-mature kami on how we are as individuals. Let's say, hypothetically, nagkabalikan kami, we'd be totally different individuals in a good way," saad niya.



Ano naman ang reaksiyon niya sa sinabi noon ni Angel na nami-miss niya ang pinagsamahan nila, pero hindi si Luis mismo?



"Siguro nung nasabi niya yun, that was before yung mga naging usapan namin, when we decided to clarify kung anuman ang mga nangyari. Kahit ako, nami-miss ko kung ano kami dati at nami-miss ko siya at alam niya yun. Yun siguro what's behind her statement."



Pero inamin ni Luis sa PEP na bukas na uli ang komunikasyon nila ni Angel, at nakausap na rin niya ang ama ng aktres na si Mr. Angel Colmenares.



"We talked. Siguro we made the first step para maayos na namin kung anuman ang mayroon kami dati. Kung anuman ang mga naging isyu sa amin, medyo nabaon na namin. Siguro yun ang pinakaimportante dahil ang tagal naming hindi nakapag-usap, ang tagal naming hindi nagkita. Siguro ngayon, we have a steady phase na maayos kung nasaan kami ngayon. We're very, very happy.



"Nakapag-usap na rin kami ni Tito [Mr. Colmenares]. Nope, walang sumbatang nangyari, hindi ganun si Tito at hindi ko rin magagawa yun sa kanya. Tito is a very, very decent man. Nakapag-usap na kami and okey naman. Napakataas ng respeto ko kay Tito at sa buong pamilya ni Angel, at ganun din ang ipinakita sa akin ni Tito when we had a talk," lahad ni Luis.



NO THIRD PARTY. Tikom pa rin ang bibig nina Luis at Angel sa tunay na rason ng kanilang breakup. Pero lumabas ang mga pangalan nina Maricar Reyes at Anne Curtis, na nahuli raw ni Angel na ka-text ni Luis, na mukhang may ibang nangyayari. Naparatangan tuloy na babaero ang TV host-actor.



"Unang-una, kami ni Angel, never naming hinawakan ang phone ng isa't isa. Hindi kami ganung couple," paglilinaw ni Luis. "Si Maricar, first time na nakita ko siya at nakausap nang harap-harapan was the camera test ng Flash Bomba almost a year ago. Kasi siya dapat ang love team ko sa Flash Bomba.



"Next time ko na siyang nakausap was Star Magic Ball na itong huli [last August]. Would you imagine yung pagitan nun? You see kung gaano kalayo ang Flash Bomba sa Star Magic Ball? Kaya hindi ko alam kung saan nanggaling yung issue na 'yan. I won't deny that Maricar is a friend, yes, I got to talk her but nothing weird or special.



"Si Anne naman," patuloy ni Luis, "aminin man natin o hindi, matagal ko nang kilala si Anne kesa kay Angel. Marami na rin kaming pinagdaanan. 'Saka Anne, of all people, hindi na kinu-question kung gaano ko ka-best friend yung tao at nadamay pa sila sa issue namin ni Angel.



"Regarding that babaero issue, ang tagal ko nang naririnig 'yan. Sanay na ako. Dati pa namang issue sa akin 'yan, pero ang ayoko lang pag may nadadamay pang ibang tao na walang kinalaman. Diyan medyo napipikon ako kasi nanahimik yung mga tao na walang kaalam-alam."



ANGEL-JOHN LLOYD TEAMUP. Kumpirmado na ang pagtatambal nina Angel at John Lloyd Cruz sa isang teleserye ng ABS-CBN next year. Tinanong namin si Luis kung masasaktan ba siya kung sakaling malaman niya na sa pagsasama ng dalawa ay magkahulugan ng loob ang mga ito?



"I know they are both good people," sabi ni Luis. "Napakabait ni Angel. Hindi puwedeng kuwestyunin yun, alam ng buong bayan yun. At napakabait din ni Lloydie. If things are meant to happen, things are meant to happen. If not, hindi siya mangyayari.



"More of mawi-weirduhan siguro ako. Kasi, kumbaga, yung ex-girlfriend ko, tapos bigla na lang yung 'ex-love team' ko na si Lloydie na Kanto Boys. It's gonna be weird. Pero siguro kahit papaano, hindi mo matatanggal na ma-hurt ako pag nangyari yun. But of course, you have to understand things happen for a reason, the same way things don't happen for a reason."



"Ex-love team" ang turing ni Luis kay John Lloyd dahil sa pelikulang In My Life, kung saan gumanap sila bilang gay lovers.



FAMILY OF STARS AND POLITICIANS. Kumpirmado na ang pagtakbo ng ama ni Luis na si Edu Manzano bilang vice president sa 2010 elections. Si Edu ang ka-tandem ni Secretary Gilbert "Gibo" Teodoro, na tatakbo namang presidente, sa ilalim ng Lakas-Kampi-CMD party.



"Nagulat ako nung malaman ko na tatakbo siya," sabi ni Luis. "When everything happened, I was in Las Vegas. Hanggang sa umabot nga sa akin yung balita na tumakbo siya. Nung una, hindi pa ako naniwala. But I know what he is capable of doing. I know yung pagkatao niya, his integrity as a person, and his capability of helping other people if he's given a position in the government. I have faith in my dad whether for vice president, for senator, or kung ano pa man," pahayag ni Luis.



Ilang araw pagkatapos ianunsiyo ni Edu ang kanyang pagtakbo bilang vice president ay inamin nito ang breakup nila ng news broadcaster na si Pinky Webb. "Matagal-tagal na sila," sabi ni Luis. "Kung anuman ang naging problema, sana maayos nila 'cause I guess as a couple, they've been through a lot talaga. Hindi ko alam kung totoo na kaya sila nag-break is because of that, not until I heard from them. I don't want to speculate kasi medyo it's a personal matter. Until I heard talaga from daddy or kay Pinky, di muna ako magko-comment."



Bukod kay Edu, tatakbo rin sa 2010 elections ang ina at stepfather ni Luis na sina Batangas governor Vilma Santos at former Senator Ralph Recto. Parehong for re-election ang tatakbuhin ng mag-asawang Recto.



Maging si Luis ay nababalita ring tatakbo. Ano ang masasabi niya rito?



"Sabi ko nga, tatakbo ako sa barangay tanod!" biro niya. "But kidding aside, not yet. Maybe next election, but definitely not now kasi marami pa akong dapat gawin sa industriya. Let's see, I'll just cross the bridge when I get there. Kumbaga, hindi ko isinasara ang pinto ko sa pulitika."

Online fashion critics drub Angel Locsin’s Emmy’s gown

A million pesos worth of disaster is how fashionistas describe the gown Angel Locsin wore at the recently concluded Emmy Awards.

Blogger Dailyfashionista called the gown designed by Dubai-based Michael Cinco, “a disastrous dress.”

“I love Angel Locsin, but for a 1 million peso dress c'mon! They should have given her much, much more. Perhaps, an Inno Sotto or a Monique Lhuillier creation,” she went on.

“Geez....sooo wrong. Angel Locsin resembles like a legendary bird in Slavic mythology Alkonost in this hideous ummm...gown?...shoosh!”

For Michelle Halpern of Stylecaster.com, the dress is “dangerously reminiscent of Bjork's swan-inspired dress from 2001.”

“And when we say dangerous, we don't mean dangerously sexy.”

Though some of Locsin’s fans came out to defend her in various online fora, not a few agreed with the observation, with one lamenting that the gown wasn’t representative of Locsin’s personality.

“It just wasn’t her.”

That said, there are other fans who blame Cinco for going over the top with the beads and the Swarovski crystals, calling the gown “a mistake” akin to something “a beauty pageant candidate from the ‘80s” would wear.

Another fan wrote that the six-kilo gown made Locsin look “awkward and fat.”

Early on Locsin’s camp crowed of her triumphant Emmy’s red carpet walk, calling her “the crowd favorite” and her gown, a “head turner.”

“She really stands out dahil ang ganda ng long gown niya. Everyone is staring at her. Everybody is staring at her gown,” the young actress’ manager Becky Aguila reported at the time.

Locsin travelled all the way to New York for the 37th edition of the long-running award organization to vie for the best actress plum.

She was nominated for her portrayal of a she-wolf in the ABS-CBN teleserye "Lobo." Locsin inevitably lost to veteran British actress Julie Walters (“A Short Stay in Switzerland,” BBC, United Kingdom).

Locsin is the second Filipina to be nominated under the best actress category in the competition. Her nomination came 20 years after Tessie Tomas’s for her role as former first lady Imelda Marcos in “A Dangerous Life.”

Cinco, one of Preview Magazine’s “Designers to Watch,” once claimed to have dressed the likes of Naomi Campbell and Dita von Teese among others.

A grateful Angel returns home

MANILA – Movie and television actress Angel Locsin returned home Saturday night after attending the 37th International Emmy Awards in New York in the United States.

Locsin, who was nominated for her performance in ABS-CBN teleseries "Lobo," failed to grab the best actress award, but she said she is still grateful for being nominated and to be part of the prestigious event.

Locsin said she is also proud that many international journalists have been captivated by her Filipino-designed gown.

“Nakakatuwa kasi na-appreciate nila ‘yong gown ko. Kinakausap nila ako ng iba’t ibang language. May taga-Brazil, China… I’m happy na na-appreciate nila ang gown ko.… Just being there, sobrang honor na,” she said.

The actress also thanked ABS-CBN for giving her the opportunity to be part of “Lobo.” She was also grateful to her leading man, Piolo Pascual, who sent her a bouquet of flowers before the gala night.

“Hindi pa ako makapag-react kasi di ko naman sure kung [sa kanya nanggaling] ‘yon. Noong makita ko na sa kanya nga, happy ako. Very happy ako at nakatrabaho ko si Piolo,” she said.

Locsin is the second Filipina to be nominated under the best actress category in the competition.

She followed Tessie Tomas who was nominated for her role as former first lady Imelda Marcos in the 1989 film "A Dangerous Life."

Meanwhile, Malaysian actress Carmen Soo also said she is proud to be part of another International Emmy nominee, “Kahit Isang Saglit.”

Kasi dito, iba yung culture, iba yung approach nila. Marami akong bagay na natutunan. Well, hindi naman ako magpapaka-plastic, siyempre mas magiging masaya ako pag nanalo talaga ako. Pero aarte pa ba ako, Julie Walters [veteran British actress] yung nanalo! Just to be in the same league with some of the finest and respected actresses in our generation, or sa buong mundo, is something that I can really be proud of.

Hindi naman maiwasang tanungin si Angel tungkol sa ex-boyfriend niyang si Luis Manzano, lalo na't napabalitang tinawagan daw siya ni Luis Manzano during the awards night. Kinumpirma naman ito ni Angel.



"Binati niya ako nung sinabi ko na parang ano nga... right after ma-announce na si Ms. Julie Walters ang nanalo. Sinabi niya parang, 'It's okay by just being there.' Pero huwag na kayong mag-isip ng iba!" natatawang dugtong ni Angel.



WINNING QUALITY. Bukod sa karangalan ng pagkaka-nominate sa International Emmy Awards, isa sa winning qualities ni Angel na sinasang-ayunan ng buong bayan ay ang kanyang taus-pusong pagtulong sa mga nangangailangan.

Angel Locsin exults in joining the league of Julie Walters

“Just to be in the same league of some of the finest actresses in our generation sa buong mundo is something that I can really be proud of,” beamed Angel Locsin in her first interview back in Manila after attending the 37th International Emmy Awards in New York where she was nominated for Best Actress.

The “Lobo” lead star, albeit proud to have shared the nomination with winner Julie Walters, admitted that she would have been happier had she won.

“Di rin naman ako magpaka-plastik. Mas magiging masaya ako kung ako ‘yung nanalo.

“Pero aarte pa ba ko, eh, Julie Walters na ‘yung nanalo?” she confessed.

Despite her loss, Angel believes she still gained from her the Emmys experience.

“Kakaibang experience talaga siya. It’s nice na makalabas sa box. Kasi doon ibang culture, iba ‘yung approach nila. Marami rin akong bagay na natutunan,” she related.

Angel seems oblivious to critics who bashed her “swan gown” which was designed by Michael Cinco.

“Proud ako kasi Filipino designer siya, si Michael Cinco. At siyempre happy ka na na-appreciate ng mga tao ‘yung gawa ng Pilipino.”

Richard Gutierrez openly admitted during the “Don’t Lie to Me” segment of “Showbiz Central,” that he almost courted Heart Evangelista when she transferred to GMA-7.

Angel Locsin says breakup with Luis Manzano will not affect her bond with Vilma Santos

Iniiwasan ni Angel Locsin ang kung anu-anong puwede niyang sabihin na malalagyan ng ibang kulay tungkol sa breakup nila ni Luis Manzano.



"Hindi maiiwasan yung may samaan ng loob right after the split-up," sabi ni Angel sa PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal). "Normal yun. Pero, siyempre, you give the benefit of the doubt na baka maayos pa, makapag-usap. Yun naman ang importante doon dahil mahalaga pa rin sa akin ang pinagsamahan namin ni Luis.

"Tita Vi is really like a mom to me, too," banggit ni Angel. "She's really nice. Yung times na nagkakilala kami, naging malapit agad ang loob ko sa kanya. Whatever happened, I don't think maaapektuhan yung naging bonding namin ni Tita Vi. And I am assuring her, kung kailangan niya ng support ko, hindi siya magdadalawang-salita.



"In that aspect, mami-miss ko siya. In special gatherings kasi, may time na nakapag-usap kami. At ngayong wala na kaming relasyon, it won't be easy for us to meet na ganoon lang. Pareho naman kaming busy. Pero if time allows, I will always have that time for her. Gagawa at gagawa ako ng paraan."

Angel Locsin all set for the Emmys

Angel Locsin will wear a six-kilo gown when she attends the 2009 Emmy Awards at the Hilton New York Hotel on Nov. 23.

"[At saka] may beads and Swarovski crystals ang gown kaya may kintab kintab," she shared on “Showbiz News Ngayon,” Nov. 19.

Angel is nominated for Best Performance by An Actress for her role in the ABS-CBN fantaserye, “Lobo.” She's the only Asian actress nominated in the category this year.

The actress was visibly elated when interviewed at the airport just before she left for the U.S.

"Nakita ko 'yong concern ng mga tao. Nagpasalamat lang ako kasi isinama nila ako sa prayers nila," she quipped.

Angel is the second Filipina to be nominated by the prestigious award-giving body. In 1989, comedienne Tessie Tomas clinched a nomination when she played Imelda Marcos in "A Dangerous Life."

Does Angel hope to win?

"Sa akin, malaking karangalan na ito [the nomination]. Manalo at matalo, happy na ako. Sa ginawa kong hirap, ang effort ko, malaking bagay na iyon," she said.

"Hindi ko nga talaga siya iniisip. Pero, siyempre, para sa ating mga Fiipino, panahon na para ma-notice tayo."

Angel will walk the Emmy red carpet unescorted. Her “Lobo” co-star Piolo Pascual could not go with her because he is set to attend an event in New York.

"In-ask ko si PJ (Piolo Pascual), pero unavailable siya. Wala naman akong maisip na dapat isama rito kasi siya rin naman ang kasama ko rito sa hirap, eh. Kung hindi siya puwede, wala naman akong maisip na iba," said she.

What about ex-boyfriend Luis Manzano? Did she try asking him?

"Hindi, eh. Wala naman akong niyaya (bukod kay Piolo)."

Angel attends the Emmy’s without an escort

Angel Locsin left for New York for the 2009 Emmy Awards by herself. Angel, who is nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a TV series for her role in “Lobo,” asked co-star Piolo Pascual to come with her for the cocktail event and awards night but the actror is busy with “Lovers in Paris.”

Angel told SNN late Thursday that it’s but right to ask only Piolo because, “Siya naman ang kasama kong naghirap sa ‘Lobo’ so kung hindi siya available, hindi na lang ako nagyaya ng iba.”

SNN host Kris Aquino lauded Angel’s decision to go without an escort rather than have any other guy who was not part of “Lobo.” “It’s very proper of Angel,” Kris opined.

The actress’ beige and white gown made by Michael Cinco weighed six kilograms was questioned en route to the New York bound flight. “Puro crystals kasi yung gown kaya na-question pa sa Customs,” said Angel who also intimated that she will wear a Rajo Laurel creations for the cocktail and side parties of the Emmy’s.

The second Filipina actress to have been nominated in the prestigious Emmy’s after Tessie Tomas’ portrayal of Imelda Marcos in “A Dangerous Life,” Angel said things have yet to really dawn on her. “Hindi pa talaga nagsi-sink-in sa akin yung nomination.”

She said that the honor is above all for the Filipinos. “It’s time na mapansin naman ang mga Pinoy. Hindi na nga issue kung manalo or matalo, ang importante napapansin tayo.”

Apart from Angel, another ABS-CBN pride, “Kahit Isang saglit” is vying for an Emmy Best International TV series. The soap’s lead actress Carmen Soo will be attending the awards night minus leading man Jericho Rosales.

‘Angel will always be an angel in my life’ - Luis Manzano

TV host-actor Luis Manzano has not moved on from his breakup with actress Angel Locsin.

“Iba rin ang pinagdaanan namin. We would always have something special. Siguro there’s one percent… ‘yung move on na natanggap [na] namin ang pagkukulang ng isa’t-isa.

“‘Yung 99 percent is Angel will always be an angel in my life,” he told “Entertainment Live.”

The Kanto Boy member also revealed that he has finally spoken with Angel’s father, Angel Colmenares.

“Tito [Angel] and I had a talk na before pa ko umalis [papuntang Las Vegas]. I explained everything. Utang ko ‘yun kay Tito at sa buong pamilya ni Angel dahil wala silang ibang pinakita sakin kundi pagmamahal at respeto,” he said.

Will he and Angel get back together?

“Love may be sweeter the second time around.”

Luis added: “We’re taking things slow. The fact na nakapag-usap na kami ni Tito, that’s a big step sa pinagdaanan namin ni Angel. Where things will lead us, we don’t know. Pero slowly naaayos namin ‘yung lamat.”

ABS-CBN unveils shows at Ad Congress


ABS-CBN has presented their forthcoming shows in 2010 during the 21st Advertising Congress held at the SBMA Industrial Park.

The lineup includes the Kim Chiu, Gerald Anderson and Kris Aquino starrer, “Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo;” Angelica Panganiban’s soap, “Rubi;” powerhouse cast drama series, “Tanging Yaman;” and the long-delayed Judy Ann Santos-Derek Ramsay reunion serye, “Habang May Buhay.”

“Nakaka-proud, nakakatuwang isipin [na maging bahagi ng mga soap operas], pero hindi naman ako nag-iisa, maraming nandiyan na gumagawa [rin] ng teleserye,” said Judy Ann Santos.

Her leading man, Derek, couldn’t be happier over their onscreen reunion.

“Siyempre I’m honored to be working with Juday again. Kung di ko naka-partner si Judy Ann, wala si Derek Ramsay sa showbiz ngayon so I have everything to thank Judy Ann for,” he said.

Anne Curtis and Angel Locsin nearing P1 million target through Shop and Share

Ang young actress na si Anne Curtis ang naging ka-partner ni Angel Locsin nang maisipan ng huli na buuin ang Shop and Share auction na makikita sa eBay.ph. Sinimulan nila ito noong halos kasagsagan pa ng bagyong Ondoy at Pepeng at ngayon, ika-third batch na raw itong pagri-release nila ng mga items in cooperation with the Philippine Red Cross. Isa sa mga items ay galing kay Manny Pacquiao.



Kagabi, sa launching ng Shop and Share sa 4th floor ng Gateway Mall, naikuwento ni Anne kung paano nagsimula ang worthy cause na ito.



"Actually, for a while kasi, hindi namin plano to go super multimedia about it. Parang okey na kami by word ng Twitter namin or mga Facebook, mga ganyan. Makapag-guest kami kung saan-saan basta ma-announce lang. Sobrang okey na kami ru'n.



"And then, yung eBay nilapitan namin kasi medyo nahirapan na kami sa listing, kasi napaka-specific nila. Tapos yun, na-approach naman namin, may letter ng Red Cross, so tumulong pa sila."



ANGEL'S INSPIRED IDEA. It was really Angel who thought of Shop and Share first.



"Si Angel ang tumawag sa akin. Tapos, tinanong niya ako kung gusto ko raw ba yung mga auction-auction ng bags. Siyempre, gusto ko 'yan, forte ko 'yan, e," natatawang sabi ni Anne. "Tapos yun na, after, super nag-brainstorming na kami kila Ate Kris [Aquino] kung paano namin gagawin.



"Then, yun nga, online ang napagdesisyunan namin. Si Ate Kris ang nag-suggest na online bidding na lang."



Masayang-masaya sila sa naging turnout ng ginawa nila.



"It really, really worked out in a way na parang people not only give their help, meron pa silang gamit na in good condition pa."



Ayon kay Anne, $15,000 na ang inaabot ng sales nila at may mga pending items pa na isusubasta. Target daw sana nilang kitain through their fundraising campaign ay one million pesos.



Itutuloy-tuloy na ba nila ang pag-o-auction ng mga celebrity items sa eBay?



"Well, only until we have certain items siguro. Pero, after nu'n, wala na. Basta for the love of na lang... sana next year maulit. Sana not because [of] another typhoon but merely because makatulong na lang."



Nakapag-bond nang husto ang dalawang pasimuno ng fundraising activity dahil inaabot minsan ng 4:30 a.m. sina Angel at Anne sa pag-aasikaso nito.



FRIENDS WITH SAM. Ibinalita ni Anne na sisimulan na raw ang pelikula nila ni Sam Milby under Star Cinema na ang Maybe It's You, at sa TV naman ay uumpisahan sa January ang taping ng bago nilang soap opera.



Balik-tambalan na sila ni Sam sa telebisyon at pelikula. Balik-tambalan na rin ba in real life?



"Talagang napunta tayo ru'n 'no?" natatawang sabi ng aktres. "Basta as of now, we'll just see kung saan mapunta. As of now, happy naman kami. We're just enjoying at hindi namin minamadali talaga.



"Admittedly, sinabi naman namin na we're not closing our doors, di ba? At saka, ang tagal din... almost one year na hindi kami... I mean, huwag naman nating madaliin. Maganda na yun para hindi magkamali ulit."



Shortly after her car accident, bumalik sila sa pagiging okey ni Sam. Nakakalabas at nakakapagtawagan na sila.



"I think, ang maganda lang, at least ngayon, hindi na kami yung, o, basta free day, tayo lang dalawa ang magkasama. Meron na kaming... meron pa rin akong life."



Wala raw siyang ibang dine-date kaya masasabi bang exclusively dating na sila ni Sam?



"Yeah, dating in a way, pero, hindi yung exclusively dating. I mean, we'll see where it goes. Hindi yung parang in-a-relationship dating."



So puwede pa siyang makipag-date with other guys?



"Well, alam mo, if you really think about it, puwede, e. But I'd rather not."



TAKING THINGS SLOWLY. Hindi itinanggi ni Anne that there was a time that she was exclusively a non-showbiz guy.



"Totoo yun... totoo yun. I was exclusively dating na at yun ang exclusively dating!" pagbibigay-diin niya.



Pero wala na raw ngayon yun. We asked her kung posibleng nagselos si Sam sa guy na ito, at napag-isip siya, kaya ngayon ay okey na uli sila ni Anne?



"Ows, totoo?" nakangiting sabi ng dalaga. "E, palagi niya ngang sinasabi that I'm happy for you. Si Sam naman, na-meet niya lang ang guy, pero hindi naman niya ka-close. Si Sam naman, sa tingin ko, mukha namang happy siya for me at that time. Siguro rin kasi at that time, nilagyan ko rin ng wall ang self ko na parang hanggang ganun lang."



Ngayon ba, masaya siya that obviously they are together again—kahit ayaw pa niyang bigyan ng label ito?



"Of course, I'm happy," nakangiti niyang sabi. "But yun lang muna... let's take it slowly."

Angel, Bea turn down Sam’s Blackberry gifts

MANILA – Both Bea Alonzo and Angel Locsin refused the Blackberry phones that Sam Milby presented to them as gifts.

Milby was very happy with his own Blackberry so he wanted his friends to use one, too.

He said: “Lahat kami sa showbiz naka-Blackberry kasi. Kapag Blackberry to Blackberry, libre 'yong messenger, so lahat kami nag-uusap through Blackberry. Si Angel wala pa siyang Blackberry noon, so bibigyan ko sana para sa birthday niya. Actually she gave me a Christmas present pero wala akong naibigay sa kanya. So, I thought I should really give her something for her birthday.”

Alonzo also doesn’t own the same phone brand so Milby thought of giving her one.

“Lahat ng kaibigan niya, like sina Nikki Gil, Anne Curtis, Shaina Magdayao… Lahat sila lagi nilang sinasabi, 'Ay si Bea na lang ang hindi naka-Blackberry.' Kaya out siya lagi sa mga usapan namin. They even said, 'Let's set up a fund-raiser para mag-Blackberry na si Bea.’

“So sabi ko may extra Blackberry na ako sa bahay, so, I'll just give it to her na lang. Everyone is saying, 'Bea just accept the phone.’ Kasi it's just sitting in my house lang naman,” he said.

The acoustic heartthrob, however, did not feel bad when both actresses turned down his gifts.

“'Si Angel, of course I really understand. Hindi niya tinanggap 'yong phone kasi 'yong phone na ginagamit niya that time was the phone na binigay ni Luis Manzano sa kanya. Pero may Blackberry na siya ngayon, siya mismo ang bumili. Si Bea, I understand din kasi mukhang she's happy talaga with her iPhone.”

In a separate interview with ABS-CBN.com, Alonzo explained that Blackberry doesn’t suit her because she's not tech-savvy.

“It was a very awkward experience kasi at some point in the shot I was told na, ‘Akbayan mo, akbayan mo.’ ‘O, dapat medyo konting sweetness.’ And sabi ko nga, ‘Akbayan kita ha.’ [Nagpaalam pa ako] kasi first time naming nagkasama sa isang shot. Nakakapanibago pero sa magandang paraan,” said Cruz.

Despite Locsin’s recent break-up with Luis Manzano, the multi-talented actor stressed that his friendship with her former boyfriend wouldn’t be a problem at all.

“Kung may awkwardness man hindi yun dahil kay Luis. Yung awkwardness nanggagaling siya doon sa naninibago ako and siyempre panibagong simula with another girl. I’m very excited and very much looking forward sa mga projects na pagsasamahan namin ni Angel. Matagal na akong nakapila and finally it’s happening very soon,” he said.

When told that Manzano had also expressed his support for their team-up, Cruz joked: “Dapat lang, kasi kung hindi makakatikim siya sa akin… ng yakap.”

Locsin had previously admitted that she’s nervous and intimidated about being paired with a critically-acclaimed actor like Cruz. But Cruz insisted that he wanted them to enjoy working with each other.

“Sabi ko nga sa kanya ‘wag siyang masyadong mag-expect. Kasi baka naman mamaya hindi ko masyado ma-meet yung expectations niya para sa akin. Basta magkatrabaho kami, I will give it my best all the time, 100%. And para sa akin, more than the work itself, yun bang magiging journey namin together as a new tandem, yun yung mas magma-matter sa akin in the future. Kasi sabi nga nila mawala man yun trabaho, pero yung pinagsamahan ninyo hindi na mawawala yun,” he said.

Cruz also congratulated Locsin for being nominated for Best Actress in the International Emmy Awards for her extraordinary portrayal in the teleserye “Lobo.”

Angel Locsin goes the extra mile to help typhoon victims

The need to help more. This is what prompted actresses Angel Locsin and Anne Curtis to create the website www.shopandshare.ph. After witnessing the devastation brought about by typhoons Ondoy and Pepeng, the two plunged into whatever help they could give the victims. They donated money, clothes and food. They visited evacuation centers to assist in the distribution of relief goods.



But Angel wanted to go the extra mile by helping rebuild the lives of typhoon survivors. From the website she and Anne created, they forged a partnership with the Philippine National Red Cross and eBay, and launched the project "Shop & Share" last November 14, held at Sining Kamalig Art Gallery, Gateway Mall, in Cubao, Quezon City.



"Hindi lang po siya basta relief, e," Angel said. "Ang habol natin dito, siyempre, ang nangyari sa mga Pilipino ngayon, hindi makatao talaga, kaya ang gusto po natin ibalik 'yon. Yung rehabilitation para mas maipagpatuloy natin yung buhay nila. Yun ang goal namin. Makaipon tayo ng sapat na halaga, maayos na halaga, para mas marami pa tayong matulungan. Kaya nandito tayo ngayon, in partnership with eBay.



"Natutuwa kami, kasi napansin tayo ng eBay. Ini-waive off nila yung portion nila. Meron silang percentage, pero willing silang tanggalin 'yon para lang mas makatulong pa tayo," explained Angel during the launch.



What inspired her to pursue her cause?



"Kung napansin niyo, nung Ondoy pa lang, nasa labas na ako. Parang... ano pa? Ano pa ba yung kaya kong gawin? Ano pa yung puwede kong ma-offer? Nandiyan yung may tulong na pinansiyal, may tulong na manpower. Ano pa ba? So, iniisip ko dahil wala naman akong ginagawa ngayon, inisip ko, ano pa ba ang gagawin ko sa mga gamit ko? Ang mamahal ng mga bili ko pero hindi ko naman alam ang gagawin ko? Parang iniisip ko, bakit hindi tayo gumawa ng auction?



"Tayong mga nasa industriya, meron tayong mga gamit na sobra sa atin, medyo may kamahalan, pero hindi naman natin puwedeng gamitin nang sabay-sabay, di ba? So, ayun, ibinabahagi namin yung mga gamit namin sa ibang tao na mai-enjoy nila yung mga gamit namin, at the same time, makakatulong din sila."



MEETING MARIAN RIVERA. Since its launch barely one month ago, Shop & Share has sold over US$15,000. The project has been largely sustained through campaigns via social media, notably Facebook and Twitter. Among the celebrities who have contributed to this endeavor are Kris Aquino, Piolo Pascual, John Lloyd Cruz, Marian Rivera, Dingdong Dantes, Pokwang, Kim Chiu, Maxene Magalona, Ruffa Gutierrez, and Gerald Anderson.



Meeting Marian Rivera somehow settled the professional competition between them. Angel narrated how she met the prized talent of the Kapuso network.



"Tineks ko si Popoy [Carivativo, Marian's manager] kung puwedeng mag-donate si Marian at si Dennis [Trillo]. Pumayag naman siya, and I'm very happy na si Marian sobrang game. Ako pa yung kumuha ng picture niya hawak-hawak niya yung mga item na dinonate niya. Tinanong niya pa ako kung meron pa siyang maitutulong, lumapit lang daw ako," said Angel.



During the launch, Angel and Anne announced that Manny Pacquiao and more celebrities are donating their personal items to Shop & Share.



NO POLITICAL COLOR. How does she divide her time, especially now that she is about to start several projects with ABS-CBN?



Angel said she was already scheduled to begin her new TV series with the network. "Ayusin lang po namin muna itong Shop & Share."



She continued, "Nakakagulat nga, tawa kami nang tawa ni Anne, kasi minsan nag-a-upload kami, tapos hindi na kami nakakapag-usap, kasi iba talaga yung focus namin. Mahirap din, pero siyempre, iba naman yung kaligayahang natatanggap namin, di ba?"



There is a buzz that one of the reasons Angel was very visible with charitable works was that she is preparing to enter politics. Is this true?



"Ay, naku, hindi po! Hindi po! Hindi po!" she said laughing. "Parang katulad lang po natin ngayon na mga Pilipino, dahil nakakita nga tayo ng trahedya, tumutulong lang tayo sa mga naapektuhan. Wala pong halong pulitika ito. Hindi ko po ma-picture ang sarili ko na tatakbo."



Angel also mentioned that aside from celebrities who donated clothes and fashion accessories on their online auction, there are some politicians who have already donated their personal belongings to the project. "Ayoko na lang mag-name ng names," she said.



And if there are politicians who will approach her and Anne to take part on their project, Angel said, "Siguro, mas makakatulong sila kung mag-bid sila, di ba? Kesa yung kami ang magbenta ng product nila."



Why did they choose the Red Cross for this project?



"Sa experience kasi, matagal na sila," Angel replied. "Alam na nila kung papaano idi-distribute yung lahat. Yung mga lugar na kailangang puntahan. Kung sino yung nangangailangan ng tulong talaga. Ang Red Cross, nakita ko na talaga kung paano sila umaksyon. Kaya masasabi ko talaga na I'm very proud na kasama namin sila dito sa Shop & Share. Nakita ko sila kung papaano sila ka-sincere na tumulong sa mga nangangailangan."


LUIS MANZANO. On the showbiz side, Angel admitted that she and ex-boyfriend Luis Manzano had already talked. "Nag-usap kami ni Luis," she said. "Nagkita kami nung ASAP, biglaan. Nagulat ako, as in... 'Hello, ASAP!'"



How is her relationship with the son of Gov. Vilma Santos and vice-presidential candidate Edu Manzano now?



"Okay naman kami. Nakakapag-usap na kami. Okay kami na hindi naman kami magkaaway," she replied.



Would there be a chance of reconciliation?



"Ayoko namang magsalita ng tapos, pero sa ngayon, we respect each other's decision."



EMMY NOMINEE. Any day now, the actress will fly to the U.S. to attend the International Emmys. Angel is vying for the Best Actress trophy for the fantasy series Lobo, her first teleserye with ABS-CBN. But she said she does not expect to win the award.



"Ayoko ring isipin, kasi lalo lang akong mate-tense," said Angel.



Accompanying Angel is her business manager Becky Aguila and some people from ABS-CBN.



"May niyayaya ako, e. Pero hindi ko alam kung magye-yes. Secret pa, baka mapurnada," the actress said.



UPCOMING PROJECTS. What are her new projects in the Kapamilya network?



"May sinasabi sa akin, pero ayoko munang mag-talk muna. Pero itong November, may sinasabi sa akin ang ABS-CBN, pero kahit ano. Tutal hindi pa naman sure na sure nang talaga," Angel said.



Is it true that her project with actor Aga Muhlach was already shelved?



"Tuloy naman siya. Kaya lang sinabi sa akin ni Tita Malou [Santos, managing editor of Star Cinema], re-sked lang siya. And I'm very happy na magkaroon ako ng chance na makatrabaho si Aga. Siyempre, Aga Muhlach 'yon."



Angel confirmed that it will be a movie with the actor which they will start doing this November. "Nag-present na sila ng istorya na sobrang gusto ko," she added.



CONTRACT WITH ABS-CBN. Has she already signed her new contract with ABS-CBN? There are reports that Angel's camp did not agree to what was stipulated on the contract. They backed out.



"May naisyu yata na hindi ko daw sinipot. Kasi, kaya hindi ko 'yon nasipot, kasi inuna muna yung storycon namin. Kasi nag-present muna sila ng story, kasi mas importante nga naman 'yon, di ba? Pero walang nangyari na tinanggihan ko 'yung contract. Hindi po," she clarified.



Angel continued, "I'm very happy sa ABS-CBN, sobrang suporta nila. Yung signing wala pa, kasi ni-re-sked nga, pero 'wag po kayong mag-alala, wala pong lipatan, yung gano'n. May inaayos po na konting details. Pero ABS-CBN pa rin po ako. Masaya pa rin po ako sa ABS-CBN. Inaalagaan po ako nang maayos."



RUMORED LOVER. There was this rumor about Angel's very rich businessman lover. How true was it?



"Sino naman 'yon? Kung totoo nga, di hindi na ako magsa-Shop & Share! Dare ko kayo, hanapin niyo kung sino 'yon. Magbabayad pa ako sa inyo. Pero wala talaga. Kahit lahat ng ari-arian ko, wala talaga kayong mahahanap." Angel was referring to the buzz that some of her properties were allegedly given by this businessman.



Angel was very surprised at the rumor that this guy had also given her a helicopter.



"May helicopter? Bigyan niya ako ng helicopter para pang-rescue!" the actress said in jest. "Wala. Wala akong helicopter."



How do these rumors affect her?



"May mga tao kasing parang naniniwala. Di ko ma-gets, kasi may mga taong naniniwala. Hindi ko naman kailangan, kasi may pera naman ako, e. Minsan kasi, parang 'pag may taong nasalubong ko, parang naniniwala sa isyu-isyu. Hindi ko alam kung mag-e-explain ba ako o tatawanan ko na lang."



The actress also clarified the rumor linking her to tycoon Lucio Tan's son. "Kasi po yung partner ko dati sa business ko, best friend niya po yung anak ni Lucio Tan, pero hindi po siya Tan. Joel Tan po siya, pero hindi siya connected sa mga Tan. At hindi na po kami mag-partner ngayon. Pero walang ganoong isyu. Nakakahiya lang kasi hindi naman siya showbiz."



There are people that still cannot believe Angel's wealth, especially now that, according to some reports, she recently acquired several properties worth millions of pesos.



"Paano ko ba i-explain 'to? Siguro naman kahit ipakita ko pa pag-o-audit ng pera ko, sa mga na-achieve ko naman, nakaipon naman ako. Hindi naman ako maluho. Hindi naman ako mahilig mag-shopping. Wala naman akong bisyo. Nag-iipon lang po talaga ako. 'Saka ilang years na akong nag-aartista, 'saka lang ako nakabili ng bagong sasakyan. Siyempre, nag-i-invest naman ako," she explained.



About the construction of her new 'building', Angel clarified, "Nagpapagawa kasi ako ng bahay, yung building na 'yon, baka mag-expect kayo, hindi naman 'to yung building na makikita niyo sa Makati. Wala, maliit lang siya. Ang habol lang namin do'n, income din siya. Tapos baka maggawa kami ng bar do'n sa taas, kasi yung rooftop niya bakante, kaya baka puwede naming gawan."

Is it really over for Angel & Luis?

Is it really over for Angel Locsin and Luis Manzano? The two accidentally bumped into each other during a performance
in A.S.A.P. They both didn’t know that they were included in the opening number. “Dun lang uli kami nagkita. Biglaan. I didn’t know he was included in the opening number. So medyo nakakaloka ang reaction ko,” explained Angel.

“I didn’t notice if we held hands. I am not sure and I cannot remember,” said Luis.

Angel also revealed that they were not talking to each other after the break-up. “It’s kinda weird if we continue to talk to each other. Break na nga di ba,” she reasoned out. “I just want to be true to myself. Weird naman kung chummy chummy kami agad. I was really surprised to see him at the opening number of A.S.A.P. I think he, too, was surprised.”

But do they still love each other? “That is one question I cannot answer right now. I miss the way we were but I don’t miss him.”

Luis said that his mother, Gov. Vi, misses Angel a lot. “My mother loves Angel so much and I can really say and I am very sure that my mom misses Angel.”

Angel said that the governor will always be her idol. “Whatever happens, I am here to support her.”

Asked if she has found a new love, Angel enthused, “Hindi ako nagmamadali. Gabriela ako, at marunong mag-isip.”

I bumped into Sarah Geronimo twice already. First, she was with her whole family having dinner at Serendra. Far from being the Pop Princess that she is, Sarah is very shy in person — almost reticent. She obviously enjoys the company of her family. At the Greenbelt Cinemas, I again bumped into her, this time she was with friends Rachelle Ann Go and Yeng Constantino. Her dad was with them. Soft spoken, quiet and simple, she greets you with the most sincere smile. On stage, Sarah is a different story. When she performs, she morphs into a princess, captivating and enchanting. Last Saturday, Sarah staged Record Breaker, a concert at the Araneta Coliseum.

And Sarah doesn’t just sizzle on stage, she sparkles on screen. Her tandem with John Lloyd Cruz is formidable. Lloydie, told that Sarah may be paired with his buddy Luis Manzano, quipped in jest, “I don’t think it will happen. Parang hindi maganda. You need to be paired with other artists in order to grow. Pero si Sarah di kailangan ng growth. Kumbaga, she has concerts, she has A.S.A.P. Pag pelikula, ako lang wag na si Luis.”

“I don’t know with him. Di ako kinikilig. I am used to his antics. Pa-cute lang yon,” Sarah shot back.

Third party in Gab-Rachelle break-up

Is there hope for Gab Valenciano and Rachelle Ann Go? Gab says Rachelle still owns his heart 100 percent. “You can’t just say I don’t love a person because Rachelle has been a part of my life. Siguro mas malaki pa siya sa puso ko. I can guarantee you, with me, it’s her 100 percent.”

Monstrously kind-hearted

Chico and Delamar of RX 93.1 program The Morning Rush announced the first-ever Monster Scholars, who will get to enroll in the second semester of 2009 and graduate in March 2010, through the Monster Scholarship Program.

Originally chosen as the first Monster Scholar was Erica Cruz, Electronics Engineering major at the Technological University of The Philippines, but the station decided to choose one more scholar: Ada Marie Bayani, Nursing major at the Centro Escolar University. Ada was nominated by her sister Cheryll.

Two more scholars were selected, their grants made possible by kind donations from a member of the Jaycees and members of San Beda High School Class of 1979. They are, Karchelle Francisco, Journalism major at the University of Santo Tomas, and Greg Ely Flores, Nursing major at Our Lady of Fatima University-Lagro, respectively. The donors have chosen to remain anonymous. All the four Monster Scholars are graduating students who received school
supplies and clothing allowances. Grand prize winner Erica Cruz will also receive an additional cash allowance.

Monster Radio RX 93.1 will pay the tuition and other fees of the chosen scholars for the second semester of school year 2009-2010. The Monster Scholar will also become part of the Monster Family, joining its events and activities for the rest of the school year.

John Lloyd Cruz expects ticklish first-time teamwork with Angel Locsin

Reigning Box-offce King John Lloyd Cruz inked another two-year contract with the Kapamilya network last Monday, October 26. In almost one decade of his showbiz career, John Lloyd already made his own niche in the industry as one of the best dramatic actors of his generation.



In an interview with PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) after the contract-signing, the actor expressed his elated gratitude for all the good projects that his mother studio gives him.



"Siyempre, bibihira ang nabibigyan ng ganitong pagkakataon, bibihira ang nakaka-experince ng ganitong klaseng pagtitiwala mula sa ganitong kalaking kumpanya, mula sa isang napakalaking miyembro ng executive world ng ABS-CBN. Hindi yun madalas sa mga kagaya namin, so talagang punung-puno ako ng pasasalamat.



"Kailangan kong maging maingat. Siyempre, pag pinagkakatiwalaan ka, malaki rin yung ine-expect sa iyo. Siyempre, hindi naman yun ganung kadali. Maraming dapat na i-consider na factors, like yung timing, yung mga materials na gagawin mo. Maraming dapat isipin, maraming dapat alagaan. Masarap na may nagtitiwala sa iyo, especially pag ganyan kalaking pagtitiwala ang inaabot sa iyo, pero malaking trabaho from my end and dapat kong ibigay o isukli," tuluy-tuloy na pahayag ni John Lloyd.



Noong isang buwan pa dapat pumirma ng panibagong kontrata sa ABS-CBN si John Lloyd, pero dala ng mga hindi inaasahang pangyayari ay hindi ito nangyari agad.



"Well, ito, finally nangyari na siya. Medyo matagal-tagal ko ding hinintay ang panahon na ito, kasi maraming inayos. At yun nga, sabi sa akin ni Tita Cory [Vidanes, ABS-CBN executive], alis daw ako nang alis. When I was about to sign a month ago, nagkasakit naman ako, so hindi natuloy. But now, ito na.



"It's a two-year contract. Bale may teleserye and, of course ASAP. Yun ang mga naka-stipulate sa contract ko," banggit ng aktor.



SOAP WITH ANGEL. Kinumpirma ni John Lloyd na ang teleseryeng gagawin niya ay pagsasamahan nila ni Angel Locsin.



"After ng movie ko with Bea [Alonzo] na lalabas by February, babalik na ako sa TV, kasama ko si Angel Loscin. Sa tingin ko, punung-puno ito ng awkwardness na sa tingin ko natural lang naman. Kailangan lang trabahuhin coz kami naman din ni Bea, nagsimula kami na di kami halos nag-uusap. Kami ni Sarah [Geronimo], ganun din naman. Lahat dapat magsimula somewhere," saad ni John Lloyd.



Naikuwento rin ng aktor na noong kinunan sila ni Angel para sa station ID ng ABS-CBN ay nakaramdam siya ng pagkailang.



"Kahapon [Oct. 25], nag-shoot kami ng station ID. Masaya, okey naman kami. Magkakilala naman kami, matagal na kahit hindi pa kami nagkakasama sa TV. Kaya lang, ako talaga naiilang pa ako. Pinaakbayan lang siya sa akin, hindi ko siya maakbayan. Nakakailang lang, pero sobra akong interesado sa team-up namin. Sobra akong interesado sa magagawa namin together na trabaho. Naniniwala ako sa mga energy niya, kita ko, ramdam ko siya."



Hindi kaya ang dating boyfriend ni Angel at kaibigan ni John Lloyd na si Luis Manzano ang dahilan kung bakit siya naiilang sa aktres?



"Wala naman akong dapat ikailang because of Luis," sagot ni John Lloyd. "I will joke about it as often as I want to, but it's a joke. A joke is a joke. Kilala ko si Luis, alam niyang trabaho ang lahat. Walang rason para magkailangan dahil kay Luis o sa kahit na kanino pa mang tao. Ang pinanggagalingan lang ng pagkailang ko ay may bago na naman akong makakasama."



MOVIE WITH BEA. Isang pelikula rin under Star Cinema ang sisimulang gawin nina John Lloyd at Bea a week after ng Heartthrob tour nila sa Europe. Ayon sa aktor, isa itong kakaibang pelikula na hindi pa nakikita sa kanila ng kanilang mga tagasubaybay.



"Ang pinaka-exciting dito, kakaibang klase ng storytelling. Hindi ko pa siya maipapaliwang coz wala pa akong hawak na script. Ang pinanghahawakan ko lang ay yung storycon na nangyari last week. Sa lahat ng mga nakapanood ng pelikula namin ni Bea, first time kaming gaawa ng ganitong paglalahad ng istorya," sabi niya.



May mga nagsasabi noon na dahil kumita ang mga pelikulang ginawa ni John Lloyd without Bea—like A Very Special Love, You Changed My Life, at In My Life—ay kaya nang tumayo ng aktor mag-isa o kahit iba pa ang kapareha niya. Isang bagay na hindi raw magagawa ni Bea pag iba ang kasama nito. Pero nasira ang paniniwalang ito nang kumita ang And I Love You So, kung saan si Sam Milby ang naging leading man ni Bea.



Ano ang masasabi ni John Lloyd tungkol sa pagganap ni Bea?



"Napanood ko ang And I Love You So and talagang humanga ako sa performance niya. Scene after scene, talagang hindi niya binitawan, hindi niya pinabayaan. Napakahusay ng performance niya. Wala akong masasabi, sobrang galing, sobrang believable yung nakita ko sa kanya. Talagang napaniwala niya ako na pinagdaanan niya yun. Yun na yata ang pinakamagandang role and portrayal na nakita ko kay Bea.



"Sa akin kasi, timing is everything. Sinubukan niya, hindi siya nawalan ng loob. So, sa tapang na ipinakita niya sa pagsubok, napatunayan niya na kaya niya. She basically has everything—she has the face, the body, and the talent. Kaya talagang dun siya papunta, dun sa stardom na tinatawag," sabi ni John Lloyd.



Single si Bea at single din naman si John Lloyd, hindi kaya matutupad ang matagal nang hiling ng avid fans nila na sila ang magkatuluyan?



"I think that's the beauty of life. Hindi mo alam kung ano ang puwedeng mangyari bukas kaya di ko masasagot 'yan. Kahit dati pa, sinabi ko na hindi ako puwedeng magsarado ng pinto o ng puso ko para sa isang tao at sabihin ko, it's never gonna happen, ever. Hindi ko yun puwedeng sabihin kasi kasinungalingan yun, anything can happen," saad ng aktor.


ANOTHER JOHN LLOYD-SARAH MOVIE. Marami rin sa mga John Lloyd-Sarah fans ang naghihintay na masundan ang mga pelikulang pinagsamahan nila. Sinabi ng aktor na matutuloy naman ito, pero medyo matatagalan nga lang.



"Hindi pa siya tuloy as of now, but alam mo naman sa business na ito how things can change na kahit last minute na lang, naiiba pa. Talagang naka-set naman siya, but not in the near future," sabi niya.


SHAMPOO COMMERCIAL. Kinuha rin ng PEP ang reaksiyon ni John Lloyd sa intrigang siya dapat ang kasama nina Piolo Pascual at Dingdong Dantes sa isang shampoo commercial, pero pinalitan siya ni Jericho Rosales dahil nag-inarte raw ang aktor. Ayaw raw kasing pumayag ng kampo ni John Lloyd na si Piolo ang nasa gitna at siya ay nasa gilid lang.



"Kinausap kasi ako nila Tita Mariols, [Alberto, Star Magic head]. It would be safe, it would be just right and proper kung huwag na lang akong magsalita, kasi yung mga tao namang involved, yung mga taong nakakaalam ng istorya, yung mga taong nakakaalam ng totoong nangyari, alam nila yun," pahayag ni John Lloyd.

Isa sa tatlong matitinding sorpresa sa advance birthday celebration ni Boy Abunda sa The Buzz last Sunday, October 25, ang live guesting ni Angel Locsin sa show. Sa October 29 pa ang birthday ng King of Talk pero nagsilbing maagang regalo ang muling pagharap ni Angel kay Boy para sa isang madibdibang interview.



Matatandaang kalilipat lang ni Angel from GMA-7 to ABS-CBN noong August 2007 at ipinagkatiwala niya ang kanyang kauna-unahang panayam bilang Kapamilya sa The Buzz. Ang una niyang nakaharap, iniyakan at nakausap nang masinsinan sa telebisyon ay si Boy. Mula noon, isang magandang samahan na may tiwala at respeto ang nabuo sa pagitan ng aktres at ng TV host.



Sa bawat kontrobersiyang kinasasangkutan, sa bawat isyung ipinupukol sa kanya, laging may soft spot sa puso ni Angel para sa kanyang Tito Boy. At noong Linggo ay naganap nga ang kanilang muling paghaharap.



Bago nagsimula ang interview ay kaagad na binati ni Angel si Boy, "Na-miss ko kayo, Tito Boy, happy birthday!"



Mabilis namang pinasalamatan ni Boy si Angel at sinabi pang malaking bagay para sa kanya ang pagpunta ni Angel nang hapon na iyon sa The Buzz.



SHOP AND SHARE. Sinimulan ni Boy ang interview kay Angel sa pagkumusta sa inilunsad na proyekto ng aktres na Shop and Share, kung saan nangalap sina Angel ng mga gamit ng mga celebrities na ipinapa-auction. Ang perang mula sa nabiling mga items ay ibibigay sa mga biktima ng nagdaang bagyong Ondoy at Pepeng.



Boy: Kumusta naman, how is it doing, yung Shop and Share?

Angel: Sobrang nakakatuwa na... kasi yung iba nagrereklamo na ang mahal daw nung bidding. Pero yung binigay kasi naming starting price sobrang baba, as in nasa one-fourth lang yata nung original price. Pero dahil ang mga tao, sa kagustuhang tumulong kahit na lumalampas na siya dun sa original price niya, dun sa brand new price niya, basta makatulong, bid lang nang bid.



Boy: As of now ba, Angel nakamagkano na kayo?

Angel: Natapos na po natin yung first batch natin sa Shop and Share, meron tayong pina-bid na pitong items. Ngayon nag-e-expect po kami na makakakuha kami ng... kasi nabili na po, e, mga nasa twelve thousand dollars na po. 'Tapos ngayon po magre-release kami... kasi yung iba ang akala puro mga mamahaling gamit lang. Pero kasi, sa amin kasi, mas gusto namin yung, 'Eto, espesyal na gamit namin. Ibibigay namin para lang makatulong.'



Nilinaw rin ni Boy na wala sa presyo kung gaano kamahal ang items na ipinagbibili kundi kung gaano kahalaga ang mga ito sa mga artistang nagmamay-ari ng mga gamit. Agad naman itong sinang-ayunan ni Angel.



Boy: Angel, tanong ng bayan, you've been doing a lot quietly, consistently mula noong... bago pa nga mag-Ondoy e, you've been doing a lot of things for this country, for the community. Ang tanong, why are you doing this?

Angel: Why? Actually, Tito, sa akin kasi parang, bakit hindi, e, obligasyon natin bilang Pilipino na tumulong sa kapwa natin Pilipino, di ba? I mean, siyempre, kung ako yung nakalagay dun sa ganung sitwasyon, nag-e-expect din ako na meron akong kamay na mahahawakan. Ganun lang, parang kung ano lang yung kaya kong ibigay sa kapwa ko. Ang mga taong ito, sila ang naglagay sa akin kung nasaan ako ngayon, bakit hindi ko kayang suklian?



ALMOST SHIFTED CAREER. Isang malaking rebelasyon naman ang sumunod na pahayag ni Angel.



Boy: Angel, itong karanasan mo, itong pagtulong ninyo... I like it when you said kayo kasi instrumento ka lamang at ang ating mga kasamahan dito sa industriya. Pero ang tunay na tumutulong, kasama kayo, kasama tayo ay ang taong bayan, hindi ba? Pero itong karanasan mo sa Ondoy at saka sa Pepeng, what is life-changing? Somebody told me na parang nagbago ang iyong pananaw sa buhay?

Angel: Muntikan na akong mag-shift ng career, e. Kung ako lang po yung masusunod, ha, gusto kong mas makatulong pa. Kaya lang, siyempre, kailangan ko ring magtrabaho, kailangan ko ring kumita, para makatulong. Mahal ko rin naman itong ginagawa ko. Nag-e-enjoy rin ako. Pero parang muntikan na akong... ano kaya kung gawin ko ito every day. Kasi hindi lang ito yung problem. Hindi lang porke't dumating si Ondoy at si Pepeng, nagkaroon tayo ng problema. Kahit noon marami na tayong problema.



NOT TRANSFERRING TO VIVA. Sumunod na nilinaw ni Angel ang intrigang lilipat na siya ng Viva from Star Cinema. Diumano'y nakipag-meeting na raw siya sa excutives ng Viva.



Boy: Pero habang ginagawa mo ang lahat ng magagandang bagay dito sa iyong buhay at para sa kapwa nating Pilipino na nagangailangan ng tulong ay hindi ka pa rin tinitigilan sa mga intriga. Ang pinaka-latest, ikaw raw ay lilipat ng Viva at naghiwalay na naman daw kayo ng iyong manager na si Becky Aguila, na nandito ngayon sa studio. Iiwan mo na raw ang Star Cinema. Once and for all, sagutin mo 'yan.

Angel: Akala ko noong una, parang joke. Pinagtatawanan ko pa nga siya kasi ang tagal ko na kasing hindi nagtatrabaho, di ba? Sinabi niya [Becky] sa akin, 'tapos natawa lang ako. 'Tapos nabasa ko na nga sa diyaryo. Hindi naman natin siguro masisisi yung taong nagsulat noon kasi ang tagal na niya akong hindi nakikita sa TV.



Pero, hindi po, wala pong katotohanan yun. Naging friends lang po kami sa Facebook ni Ma'am Veronique [del Rosario, Viva Films executive]. Pero wala naman pong ganun. At saka kagagaling ko lang po sa isang matinding transfer. Parang wala po akong plano na pagdaanan ulit yung mga pinagdaanan ko noon.



Boy: Ang iyong proyekto with Aga Muhlach, kumusta naman?

Angel: Hindi po, kasi... pero sabi po ng Star Cinema, 'eto pong November, baka matuloy... or next year. Gusto ko po kasing makatrabaho si Kuya Aga po.



OPEN TO DO A REGAL FILMS MOVIE. Alam na ng lahat ngayon na si Heart Evagelista ang magiging anak ni Sharon Cuneta sa Mano Po 6, under Regal Entertaiment. Una ngang kumalat noon na gusto ni Sharon ay si Angel ang gaganap bilang anak niya. Pero hindi nga natanggap ni Angel ang movie dahil na rin sa exclusive contract niya sa Star Ciema.



Boy: Wala bang panghihinayang kahit konti?

Angel: Siyempre meron. Hindi naman ako magpapaka-plastic, kasi meron, e. Alam naman ng lahat na siya talaga ang gusto kong makatrabaho personally, si Ms. Sharon, gustung-gusto ko siyang makatrabaho.



At saka pinakiusapan ko talaga si Tita Malou [Santos , Star Cinema executive] at ang Star Cinema. Pumayag naman siya na maayos na yung lahat sa amin ni Mother [Lily Monteverde]. Kahit na anong gawin n'yo, Regal baby pa rin talaga ako. At gusto ko lang sanang maayos yun na, sige, gagawa ako ng pelikula, kahit nga libre.



Kaya lang siguro... bubusina lang ako kay Heart, ha, wala akong... I'm happy for her, pero siyempre parang mas may bagay dun sa role, ganyan. Mas napili lang siguro nila Mother. Pero anytime naman bukas lang din po ang pinto ko. Sana lang huwag magsarado yung pinto n'yo.


Boy: Puso mo, kumusta naman ang lagay?

Angel: Okay naman siya. Hello. [sabay tingin sa kanyang dibdib.]



Boy: Daddy mo, kumusta?

Angel: Okey naman si Daddy. Ayun, nandun pa rin, nagba-bike sa bahay. Sobrang healthy pa rin siya. Binabantayan niya yung savings ko ngayon. Si Daddy, nakakatuwa kasi pinaplano niya lahat, yung investments ko, ganun. Para in the future kung hindi man ako magtagumpay dito sa ginagawa ko, meron akong mapaghuhugutan.



ANGEL SURPRISES BOY. Akala ng lahat ay tapos na ang interview pero may biglang ipinakiusap si Angel kay Boy.



Angel: Tito Boy, puwede bang humirit. Kasi parang lagi lang ikaw yung may tanong. Puwede bang ako naman ang magtanong sa iyo?

Boy: Teka muna, ha. Sorpresa ito.

Angel: Hindi naman kita papaiyakin. Pero okey lang, Tito Boy, feel free lang. Kasi di ba parang lahat, wala akong maisip na hindi pa dumaan sa iyo Tito Boy, di ba? Parang lahat nakaharap mo na at naitanong mo na halos lahat. Pero ano po kaya kung mag-isa ka lang, nakatingin ka sa 'Salamin,' tahimik ang lahat, nakatingin ka sa malayo, ano kaya yung isang tanong na tinatanong mo sa sarili mo, Tito Boy?



Boy: Wow... may mga panahon kasi, Angel, na kahit gaano ka kalakas, kahit gaano ka katapang, may mga bagay na hindi mo kaya. So, may mga bagay na hindi ka sigurado. May mga bagay na kahit anong gawin mo, hindi ka puwedeng lumaban.



Ako pag mag-isa na lang ako, dalawang bagay. Una, parang when you're so blessed, I ask God na parang hanggang kailan ba ito? Pero you always say, I must have done something good in my life, to deserve all the blessings. Pangalawa, ay walang iyakan, ha. But no, I always ask God. I always say, hindi tanong, sinasabi ko sa Diyos na sana'y pahabain pa ng konti ang buhay ng Nanay [Lesing].



Angel: Bago ko tanungin ang birthday wish, sobrang na-touch naman ako doon.

Boy: Alam mo, I stop wishing for myself. Dahil wala na akong mahihiling pa, di ba? Parang basta masaya lang at malusog ang aking ina, at sana'y masaya at malusog ang lahat ng nanay sa Pilipinas, at sa buong mundo. Dahil pag masaya at malusog ang nanay ko, parang masaya at malusog na rin ako. That's a wish.



Pangalawa, kapayapaan ng loob, katahimikan, dahil sobra nang maingay minsan ang ating mga mundo. Pagmamahal. And I want to be a better person, I still want to be a better person and a lot of things. I want to be better to the people. I want to be forgiving. I want people to forgive me. Sana ako'y mapatawad din ng maraming tao na minsan ako'y nagkamali.



At sana'y mapatawad tayo ng ating kalikasan na matanggal na nating binabastos. Kaya tayo'y pinarurusahan. Yun lang yung mga bagay na sumasagi sa aking isipan. I realize na ang mga wishes ko para na sa mga tao mahalaga sa akin, mahal ko. Nanay, mga kaibigan, Pilipinas, this is a time in our lives I think when we have to love this country. Mag-isa lang yan, e.



Angel: Tito Boy, sobrang nakikita ko kung bakit maraming taong nagmamahal sa iyo kasi karapat-dapat ka naman talaga. Ako, Tito Boy, yung mga pinagdanan ko noon sa mga tao, hindi ko mapagdadaanan yun ng maayos kung hindi ikaw yung nasa tabi ko noon. Maraming salamat talaga. Pero yun talaga ang mensahe.

Boy: Di ba, this is the only country we have, the only life we have..? And it is our responsibility para maalagaan ito. Kaya sana malusog tayong lahat, lahat ng mga nanay at tatay na nagmamasid sa ating pag-uusap ngayon.
